Chapter 50: Mega Beedrill

Chapter 50: Mega Beedrill

"This is a major crisis! Harrison has already lost three Pokémon, while Ron's team has only suffered injuries—none have fallen yet! How will Harrison turn this around?!"

The commentator's voice echoed through the stadium, heightening the tension.

---

Harrison silently recalled Pidgeot and sent out his fourth Pokémon.

A shiny Ampharos appeared on the battlefield, its stubby arms crackling with tiny electric sparks.

---

"Charizard, can you keep fighting?"

Ron asked.

---

"Roar!"

Charizard grinned, raising a thumbs-up toward Ron.

Ron understood its determination and nodded.

"Then I'm counting on you. Charizard, Earthquake!"

---

Charizard stomped the ground fiercely, sending powerful shockwaves rippling toward Ampharos.

---

"Ampharos, use Magnet Rise!"

Harrison commanded.

---

Electricity flashed beneath Ampharos, and it levitated into the air.

Earthquake became useless.

Ron frowned.

"Charizard, Heat Wave!"

---

"Thunder!"

Harrison countered.

---

Charizard took to the skies, its wings stirring up scorching heatwaves.

But Ampharos didn't flinch, its arms raised toward the heavens.

A massive bolt of lightning crashed down—striking Charizard directly.

---

"ROOOAARR!"

Charizard cried out as it was sent plummeting to the ground.

It struggled to rise—but its body gave out.

---

"CHARIZARD IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!"

---

Ron clenched his jaw, his eye twitching slightly.

He finally understood Harrison's training style.

---

Extreme Specialization.

Harrison ignored balanced training, instead pushing each Pokémon to its absolute limit—

Offensive Pokémon had nothing but raw firepower.

Defensive Pokémon could tank absurd damage.

---

This Ampharos was proof of that.

Its Thunder attack was devastating.

But it barely survived a single Heat Wave—hanging on by a thread.

---

Ron recalled Charizard, shaking his head.

He once considered this kind of extreme training style.

But Steven Stone had warned him—

Focusing only on strengths means your weaknesses will be just as extreme.

Such Pokémon could never go beyond the Elite Four level.

A true champion, or a Pokémon Master, required balance.

---

"Sylveon, you're up."

---

"Ampharos, Iron Tail!"

Harrison attacked immediately.

---

"You're too slow. Sylveon, Moonblast!"

---

Sylveon's ribbons stretched gracefully, as a glowing moon appeared behind it.

A shimmering pink energy orb formed in front of its mouth—

Before Ampharos could land its attack, the Moonblast fired, engulfing the electric dragon.

---

Ampharos swung its Iron Tail—but the Moonblast explosion sent it flying.

When the dust cleared—

Ampharos lay motionless on the battlefield.

---

Harrison sighed, recalling it.

"Go, Kingdra! Bubble Beam!"

---

"Swift."

---

Kingdra fired a sparkling stream of bubbles, but Sylveon leaped gracefully, dodging it.

Midair, it flicked its ribbons, sending glittering star-shaped energy blasts toward Kingdra.

---

Kingdra dodged.

But Swift was a homing attack.

The stars curved, striking their target from behind.

---

Harrison bit his lip.

"Kingdra, Hydro Pump!"

---

"Final Moonblast!"

---

Both attacks collided head-on, but the Moonblast won out—

Engulfing Kingdra in a pink explosion.

When the light faded—Kingdra was down.

---

Sylveon panted heavily, water dripping from its fur.

"Kingdra is unable to battle!"

"Harrison has only ONE Pokémon left! What will he send out?!"

---

Harrison recalled Kingdra.

He took a deep breath.

"My final hope… Go, Dragonite!"

---

"Come back, Sylveon."

Ron recalled it as well.

"Beedrill, you're up!"

---

Harrison furrowed his brows.

"Beedrill? Are you trying to stall for time?"

---

"Ron sends out his SHINY BEEDRILL! Is he just giving Sylveon time to rest?!"

The commentator speculated.

"After all, Sylveon's Fairy-type is IMMUNE to Dragonite's Dragon attacks!"

---

Ron smirked.

"It looks like everyone is underestimating you, Beedrill."

He touched the two Key Stones embedded in his wristband.

"Let's shut them up. Mega Evolution."

---

Beedrill's pendant gleamed, radiating energy.

A brilliant light connected it to Ron's Key Stones.

As the glow faded—Mega Beedrill emerged.

---

"WHAT IS THIS?! BEEDRILL HAS EVOLVED AGAIN! RON SURPRISES US ONCE MORE!"

"AFTER GRENINJA'S NEW FORM, NOW HE UNLEASHES A MEGA EVOLUTION?!"

---

Harrison clicked his tongue.

"Mega Evolution? So what? It's still just a weak bug! Dragonite, Fire Punch!"

---

Dragonite rocketed toward Beedrill, its right fist blazing with flames.

But—in an instant—Beedrill vanished.

---

A blur of motion.

A sharp glint of its lance-like stinger.

Before Dragonite could react—Beedrill struck from behind!

---

Poison Jab—direct hit!

Dragonite was poisoned!

---

Ron grinned.

"Originally, I had a 60% chance of winning this matchup. But now that you're poisoned… it's 90%."

---

According to the Pokédex, Dragonite was one of the fastest Pokémon in existence.

But in reality—

Mega Beedrill was almost TWICE as fast.

Speed: 145 (Mega Beedrill)

Speed: 80 (Dragonite)

---

It was fragile—but its attack power was monstrous.

---

"Beedrill, Venoshock!"

Beedrill fired a stream of toxic green liquid, hitting Dragonite square in the chest.

The poisoned condition made the damage DOUBLE.

Dragonite grimaced in pain.

---

"Damn it! Dragonite, Rain Dance—then Thunder!"

Harrison roared.

---

"You think I'll give you time for that?"

Ron narrowed his eyes.

"Beedrill, Twin Needle—DON'T STOP!"

---

Beedrill became a blur.

It darted across the battlefield, striking Dragonite over and over again with its twin lances.

Harrison gritted his teeth.

---

Dragonite couldn't keep up.

Its body trembled from the poison.

Its movements slowed.

It was helpless.

---

One final Twin Needle.

Dragonite collapsed.

---

"DRAGONITE IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!"

"THE WINNER OF THE INDIGO LEAGUE IS—RON!"

---

Ron fist-bumped Beedrill's steel stingers.

Trainer and Pokémon stood victorious—amidst the deafening cheers of the crowd.
