Chapter 83 Hot Spring Adventure, Togepi's Birth

Chapter 83 Hot Spring Adventure, Togepi's Birth

Carefully placing the two Togepi eggs into his bag, Ron asked, "Celebi, is there anything else here?"

Celebi shook its head and chirped softly, meaning that according to the Unown, there were only these eggs, and nothing else remained.

Ron nodded. "Then let's get out of here. This place is too depressing."

"Yes, exactly," Rosa agreed. "A world without any sign of life is really saddening."

Ruby also nodded in agreement. Although they didn't know how this space came to be, it was already dead. Rescuing the two Togepi eggs was enough, so there was no reason to stay any longer.

Celebi called gently, summoning the Unown again. A circular portal appeared in front of them, and they quickly passed through it, returning to their original world.

Once outside, they turned around to look at the portal and saw the space behind slowly shattering, returning to nothingness. After the portal closed, the Unown settled back onto the walls.

Ruby subconsciously touched the wall again, feeling only solid rock and murals, without any signs of Pokémon. Ruby sighed, "Unown really are mysterious Pokémon."

Ron and Rosa both nodded. Indeed, they were Pokémon that humans couldn't fully understand, making them very mysterious.

The three left the Alph Ruins and continued their journey toward Ecruteak City.

A few days later, Ron and his group arrived in a tropical jungle. Rosa wiped the sweat from her forehead and said, "Although it's almost summer, it's unusually hot here. It's probably over thirty degrees, right?"

"Yeah, what's going on?" Ruby also felt extremely hot and took off his hat, revealing the scar on his right forehead.

"Huh, Ruby, how did you get that scar on your forehead? How were you injured?" Rosa asked curiously when she noticed Ruby's scar.

"Oh, I got it when I was a kid," Ruby said lightly.

Ron couldn't help complaining inwardly: 'You were only a few years old, and you took down a Salamence with three baby Pokémon, and that's all you say about it?!'

But Ron also understood who Ruby got injured for. If Ruby said it out loud, Rosa would surely bombard him with endless questions.

"Wait a second. I smell sulfur," Ron suddenly sniffed the air and said.

"Huh, you're right," Rosa sniffed as well.

"Could there be a hot spring nearby?" Ruby guessed.

The three quickened their pace, pushed aside some bushes, and their view suddenly cleared. A beautiful lake appeared before them. Ron approached, squatted down, tested the water temperature, and laughed, "It really is a hot spring! No wonder it's so hot around here."

Turning around, Ron smiled and said, "We'll rest here today! We'll continue traveling tomorrow!"

"Yay!" Ruby and Rosa shouted excitedly.

The three quickly set up their tents and built a cooking area using stones. They changed into swimsuits, eager to soak in the hot spring to relieve their travel fatigue.

"Oh, let's let all our Pokémon out to play together," Rosa suggested, releasing her Pokémon as she spoke.

Serperior, Teddiursa, and Misdreavus appeared. Ruby also released his Pokémon: Skitty, Poochyena, Ralts, and an Eevee. This Eevee was the one Ruby had caught at Ron's ecological garden. Ron wondered what evolution Ruby would choose for it later.

"Everyone, come on out!" Ron also released his Pokémon, and a large group instantly filled the area.

"That's awesome, Ron. Your Pokémon carrying limit was removed," Rosa said enviously.

Ron smiled without replying. After all, he had paid diamonds himself to unlock these Pokémon slots, rather than the League granting him special privileges. If the League knew about this, they'd surely make a fuss again.

The lake was large enough for all their Pokémon to enjoy without any issues. At first, Tyranitar resisted going into the water since it preferred sand and was weak against water-type moves.

But Ron regularly encouraged it to swim to build its resistance. Over time, Tyranitar no longer resisted and was now comfortable taking a bath occasionally.

Once everyone was happily enjoying the hot spring, Ron got out to start preparing lunch. While chopping vegetables, he watched the Pokémon play in the water and also noticed Rosa in her swimsuit. Her figure had already started developing nicely.

This made Ron unconsciously think of Lillie, whose figure was still immature since she was only eleven years old. Ron didn't have any thoughts about her either. After all, his own body hadn't developed fully yet, and his thoughts were innocent.

While Ron was cutting vegetables and lost in thought, the backpack at his feet suddenly started shaking. Ron looked down and saw white light glowing from the backpack.

Realizing something was happening, Ron immediately took out the two Pokémon eggs. As expected, the eggs glowed with white light and shook continuously. Ron smiled wryly, realizing both eggs were hatching at the same time.

The hatching attracted Ruby and Rosa's attention, and they quickly rushed ashore with their Pokémon. A large group of creatures surrounded the two eggs, hoping the newly born Pokémon wouldn't be frightened by their eager welcome.

As the eggs shook, two tiny hands emerged, followed by small feet, and finally, their heads popped out, breaking the eggshell.

"They're so cute!" Rosa exclaimed happily.

Indeed, Ron thought. Togepi were small, egg-like Pokémon primarily pale yellow in color. They had black eyes and five spike-like points on their heads, resembling crowns. While sleeping, the spikes closed together, making Togepi look even more egg-like.

Most of Togepi's body was covered in eggshells, which they never left. Their eggshells had red and blue triangular patterns. They had short, stubby hands and rounded feet, each foot with two toes and semicircular brown pads.

Their adorable appearances immediately captivated everyone. Ron quickly checked their stats and discovered both were top-tier in potential, one male and one female, and he checked their detailed information.

Pokémon: Togepi

Level: 0

Gender: Male

Height: 30 cm

Weight: 1.5 kg

Ability: Super Luck

Moves: Lucky Chant (Inherited), Growl, Charm

Pokémon: Togepi

Level: 0

Gender: Female

Height: 30 cm

Weight: 1.5 kg

Ability: Super Luck

Moves: Lucky Chant (Inherited), Growl, Charm

Both had the hidden ability Super Luck and inherited the move Lucky Chant. Clearly, these two little ones were extremely lucky, which perfectly compensated Ron's notoriously bad luck.

"Ding! Host, would you like to change their abilities? When Togepi evolves into Togekiss, the best ability is Serene Grace," the system suddenly prompted.

"Get lost. Don't think I don't know what you're up to. Togepi converts warmth and joy it senses into happiness. It's said if treated kindly, it shares its luck with others. That's what the Pokédex says. I didn't fully believe it before, but since you jumped out so quickly to suggest changing their abilities, it must be true," Ron laughed triumphantly.

System: "..."

"Wait. Don't mess with my luck probability. If my future lottery draws turn terrible, I'll assume you tampered with the odds," Ron warned.

System: "..."

Ron happily hugged both Togepi, giving each one a gentle kiss and laughing, "From now on, you two will be my lucky charms! I'll take excellent care of you both!"

Both Togepi happily squinted their eyes and smiled, clearly feeling Ron's sincere joy and affection towards their arrival.
