Chapter 2.

Tears rolled down uncontrollably thinking about the pains she will have to go through.

" Am not here to lash you nor yell at you but am here to talk to you as a mother will do to her child" Emma softly sitting beside her for the first time ever.

" What happened mom? Why do you look so worried" Jenny asked though her voice was shaking in fear.

" Please,marry Richard my dear" Emma dropped the bomb shell.

" Why mom? We all know his man doesn't know how to treat a woman. He's ruthless mom, please don't make me did this" Jenny pleaded in tears.

" Am not forcing you dear" Emma said caressing her cheeks. " It's for all of us. If one of you don't marry him then he shut down all the companies we have and render us useless. I would have told have told my Amy but she already has a man in her life and wouldn't even listen to me. You are my last hope please don't say no" she explained trying to kneel before her but Jenny was quick enough to hold her.

" No No.. No. I accept the marriage, I will marry him but please don't kneel before me" Jenny said, holding her hands.

" I will endure everything that happens to me. I believe that every man has his weakness and only one woman can change a man no matter how tough he may be" Jenny assured her.

" Go tell your dad than. Thanks dear" Emma said hugging her tightly. Jenny gently broke the hug and ran upstairs.

" Now my daughter is free and you will treated like a slave that your are" Emma smirked devilishly.

Jenny ran upstairs to her father's room and knocked several times but got no reply, so she opened the door and went in she couldn't find her father in his bedroom so she thought he was going to be in the study she went to his study and surprisingly she met him there crying.

It was as if time froze for a little while, so many thoughts and questions one through her head.

" Dad" she called gently and squat in front of him.

The man didn't want to appear weak in front of his daughter so he wiped away his tears.

" What happened dear?" He asked with a cracking voice.

" Why are you crying?" She questioned

" I am not crying" he lied.

" Don't you dare lie to my father!! I clearly saw you when I came into the study. You didn't even notice my presence if not for the fact that I had to stand in front of you. So quit trying to play strong and tell me what's going on" Jenny declared crossing her hands beneath her boobs.

" I'm sorry dear I didn't want to tell you anything but the truth is Anderson's Construction Company started with the help of old Logard. All my investors are highly connected to him and he is the highest investor investing about 75% share in my company and he's threatening that if we don't provide a wife within the next 48 hours that everything I have worked so hard for, my sweat, labour and everything will go down within a snap of his finger. If only I hadn't borrowed money from him back then, then none of this would have happened. His son who was sweet and filled with colours suddenly turned into a ruthless monster that everyone is scared of. How do I give my daughter away to such a family? How?" He said unable to hold back his tears anymore it's fell down freely. The the condition of her family broke Jenny's heart the more. But there is still a question that is left her hanging on her head so she decided to ask.

" Father what was the reason why you had to borrow money from the Logard family years ago?" Jenny asked.

" 20 years ago, when my friends suggested we go to a club to chill out. I ended up getting drunk and had sex with Emma, your stepmom, I have no courage to tell your mum back then so I hid it, that one night stand led to the birth of Amy. Emma threatened to ruin my marriage if I didn't give her money to bail her out from the hospital. I had no choice than to borrow money from Logard family to pay off the debt and promised that one of you would marry his son. When your mother died, I thought that I can finally give Emma and Amy the love that the both deserved because it was all my fault. If only I hadn't gone out that night none of that would have happened" he cried. After listening to her father, her mind was made up.

" I will marry Richard" she declared fiercely

Her father looked up. " What do you mean?" Robert asked unsure of what he just heard.

" I said I will marry Richard" Jenny repeated.

Seeing the determination in her eyes, he could only smile in tears. " Thanks dear"

" I will make you a call now telling them to come over tomorrow morning and see his wife" Robert smiled while Jenny nodded quietly and walked with a heavy heart. She might strong in front of her family but she's that strong. 

Jenny went straight into her room, and broke down. Her dream was to marry a man she loves, a man that would treat her nicely and make her forget the pains that was inflicted on her her stepmom and stepsister but now her dreams is shattered. She doesn't even know if he will treat her nicely or will she continue to be a slave for the rest of her Life. The more she thought about it the more tears left her eyes. She slowly cried herself to sleep. 

Amy sauntered into the room, her eyes glittering with amusement.

 "I see you're still sleeping," she said, with smirk playing on her lips. "But I have a feeling you're not ready for what's about to happen." Before Jenny could respond, Amy turned and headed for the door. 

"By the way, your future in-laws are downstairs waiting for you. Better hurry up!" With that, she left the room, leaving Jenny in a state of confusion. How could her future in-laws be here? She only made that decision some hours ago, how come there are here?
