The next morning, I walked into school with one goal—to pretend yesterday never happened.
Unfortunately, the entire school had other plans.
---
Step One: Enter the Hallway. Immediate Regret.
The moment I stepped inside, I heard it.
Whispers. Giggles. Way too many knowing smirks.
Someone whistled.
Another voice sang, "Can you feel the looooove tonight?"
I froze.
Then—
BAM.
Lena slammed into me, grinning like a maniac.
"Confetti Girl!" she cheered. "How's it feel to be the talk of the school?"
I groaned. "I am going to kill Oliver."
"Too late." Daniel strolled up, shaking his head. "He's already dead."
I blinked. "Wait. What?"
Lena cackled. "He got ambushed this morning. The seniors are calling him Romeo."
Daniel smirked. "The basketball team started calling him 'The Love Fool.'"
I choked.
"Oh, and," Lena added, barely containing her laughter, "someone made a meme."
She shoved her phone in my face.
I stared.
It was a screenshot of Oliver mid-confession, surrounded by confetti, looking like a dramatic Disney prince.
Above it, in bold text:
"LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD. AND OLIVER IS LOSING."
I wheeze-laughed. "Oh my God."
Daniel smirked. "I already sent it to him."
Lena snorted. "He said, and I quote, 'I REGRET NOTHING.'"

Step Two: Face the Idiot Responsible.
I found Oliver at his locker, hiding from humanity.
The moment he saw me, he grimaced. "I am… so sorry."
I crossed my arms. "Are you?"
He sighed. "...No. But I should be."
I glared. "Oliver, you—"
BOOM.
The classroom door beside us swung open.
A group of seniors appeared.
I panicked. Oliver panicked harder.
"ROMEO!" one of them shouted.
Oliver bolted.
I watched in horror as the basketball team chased him down the hallway.
Lena appeared beside me, biting her lip to hold in laughter.
"So," she said. "Is he gonna survive this?"
I sighed. "Honestly? He deserves what's coming."
We watched as Oliver ran for his life.
And somehow, I was smiling.

Later That Night…
Whiskers sat on my desk, smirking.
"So," he purred. "You had fun today."
I glared. "I did not."
He flicked his tail. "You're smiling."
I slapped a pillow over my face.
