Chapter 01

Murmurs filled the grand cathedral, as the sunlight shining through the stained glass reflected on the spotless marble floor. Amid the rowdy crowd, a young man knelt at the altar.

Luan Meskevela, or so his body claimed. But as Luan stirred awake in his body, memories of another life, his past life on Earth flashed in a chaotic blur.

He wasn't Luan; even though he shared the same first name, he was someone from Earth. Forced into this noble body, even at this seemingly important or even life-changing moment.

The head priest's voice echoed throughout the cathedral. "Luan Meskevela, step forward and awaken your very own sigil."

Luan was dumbfounded, his mind going into overdrive as his thoughts blurred together in a frenzy of rapid insights.

But he couldn't stop to think right now, so he stood up slowly and stepped forward, after taking a couple of steps, he felt it.

A burning sensation on his right hand and across his entire back, as if he was getting branded by something. Keeping his composure he bit through the pain to stay standing upright, facing the head priest with a smile on his face.

The burning sensation worsened by the second, and while he was biting his lips, his originally short black hair turned a majestic gold and became longer, reaching his shoulders.

His blue eyes became a deep emerald green, and his skin became even smoother than it already was. Surprising all the nobles that were in attendance and even the high priest.

The crowd became rowdier as gasps escaped from people's mouths. And they started theorizing and making plans on how to get on Luan's and the duke's good side.

"For his appearance to change so much he must have a high-ranking sigil, we better keep an eye on him." Said an older gentleman to the girl seated next to him.

The girl just nodded absent-mindedly, while staring at Luan's transformation.

With a slight smile, the head priest turned toward the crowd that was waiting for the announcement of the name of the sigil that Luan awakened.

"Luan Meskevela awakened the following sigils." He started as he cleared his throat.

Murmurs filled the crowd once more; all the nobles looked at each other dumbfounded. Did he just say sigils?

They all looked at a well-dressed older man who sat at the back. His short black hair and blue eyes signified he was from the prestigious Meskevela household.

Drago Meskevela was surprised as well when he heard the head priest talk about sigils. But he did not let it show on his face, keeping a stoic expression as he paid close attention to the following statement of the head priest.

"Luan Meskevela has awakened the Sigil of the Elven Monarch, but that is not all. He has awakened a second sigil!" The head priest said, his face twisting in a look of pure awe, a fanatic gleam shining in his eyes. As if he were witnessing a miracle.

"The second sigil is the Sigil of the Spirit's Pact." He finished composing himself again. "This is a never-before-seen double awakening! And both sigils are very powerful; this young man has a bright future ahead."

The crowd fell completely silent. A double awakening? And two powerful sigils at that. This was unheard of.

Luckily, Luan was the last one to be awakened, and everyone was already thinking of ways to gain favor or even forge marriage alliances, especially the more powerful noble families.

A single powerful sigil could catapult an individual into nobility, and now Luan had multiple powerful sigils.

People started leaving the cathedral hastily, shouting for their servants to rush home; they needed to plan accordingly and try to be faster than the imperial family.

Luan stood still in shock in front of the head priest, his mind almost shutting down completely.

'Two sigils? Wait, sigils? Isn't that something from Sigil Online? How... did this happen?' Thoughts racing through his mind he looked around the cathedral and ended up making eye contact with Drago Meskevela.

'He looked similar to me before awakening my sigils so I assume he is my father. But that's not important right now, I don't understand anything right now.' As his mind went into overdrive, he clutched his head and stumbled to his knees.

Drago and Hana promptly stood up and rushed toward Luan when they saw him almost collapse.

"Are you okay sweetie?" Hana asked as her face paled, she turned toward Drago shooting him a nasty glare.

"Darling~ why are you just standing there? Get the carriage ready now!" She demanded.

Drago just sighed as he turned around to prepare the carriage like his wife had said. He was just too surprised by all the things that just happened. First, his son awakened two sigils then he collapsed.

Exiting the cathedral promptly he prepared the carriage skillfully ordering the servants so they could depart smoothly.

Meanwhile, Luan was still grasping his head trying to make sense of the situation, with his mom hugging him close.

"It's going to be alright sweetie, take it easy," she said softly trying to reassure Luan. Even though she didn't know why he was in pain she didn't care all that mattered was that he's gonna be fine.

The head priest looked at Hana and Luan hugging while Luan was clutching his head. Trying to keep his composure.

"Is he alright? Do you want me to help him Mrs. Meskevela?" he inquired.

Hana shot him a nasty glare snorting. "No thanks, I know what your true motives are but we're going home immediately."

She stood up, shooting one last glare at the head priest before turning to Luan.

Who had finally composed himself to stand up and turned to Hana. "Are we going home now?" he asked her, still not fully believing he had transmigrated.

"Yes, sweetie take it slow. There is no need to rush, Drago is waiting at the carriage outside of the cathedral."

Luan nodded silently and they made their way toward the exit. Not minding the head priest who seemed to want to ask them something but didn't dare to do so after the previous glare that Hana shot at him.

Outside they quickly entered the carriage and Drago ordered the servants to head straight toward their mansion located in the capital.
