I could feel his eyes staining my body the moment he walked in… was this now his domain? Before I got the chance to process anymore thoughts, he turned and coldly… left?!
Not even an apology? It seemed no one really wanted me here huh? I was just some poor kid who got in here with a free pass… pathetic? I know. But that's what you get for not have 50 thousand dollars to pay as an entry few.
I sighed, pushing away all the thoughts and resting my back on the bench.
The sky was awfully nice today… it was-
My thoughts cut off by the feel of my phone buzzing, I pushed myself up, and took a look at it.
I had forgotten… about the darn dress! The lady had already text back for it, and it looked like a client wanted to buy it…
The tag was now missing, and it only means that I'd have to pay for it.
"Ah!" I slammed my hands into my head a couple of times until my hair became messy.
One way or another, I would have to see her and explain it all, it was better to come clean than to be tagged as someone who stole or rather, borrowed something and later on ghosted the giver.
Am I going to be in yet another whole trouble? I got myself into this because of some boy I later on realized that never even liked me back, or never even saw me as a human… but rather, Ivy's dog.
I hated him now… just because he had the money and pretty looks, didn't mean I couldn't find better out there.
How can I be thinking of love when I had gotten myself into a big problem?! My hands dug into my hair again, until I could hold no more. The pain becoming excruciating as I let go.
I'd better come clean… maybe she would've been nice enough to let it slide… right?
…Unfortunately it was only until I had gotten there I was able to get an answer.
"Sorry, but you'd have to pay… even if it isn't full."
"Huh? But I wasn't even the one who removed the tag."
"I never stated you had to be the one who removed it."
My eyes widened at her words, this woman was a freaking crook! I turned, distraught by the fact I had to actually pay.
And just when I was about making up an excuse for not being able to pay, the particular amount of the money, a card slide on the counter.
I turned and saw a beautiful brunette, she looked about my age and had the brightest smile on. The lady at the counter looked shocked, and she seemed to have froze.
"I'd take care of this."
Her hair was silky brown, big blue almond eyes, a lip that wore a tin smile, and her finger tips having a shade of pink on them. She looked like wealth in the making, more taken care of and wore the right set of clothes… unlike me.
I side eyed her as the lady took the card, and glare at me with a dirty look.
The girl suddenly snapped at me, her hand reaching out, and the same smile still on her face.
"My name's Avery… Avery hummingbird."
I stared at her speechlessly, had she just helped me? And her name… my eyes widened.
"Avery hummingbird?! Like the idol?!" She was the best! Well… in my eyes at least.
Before my death, I'd loved to hear all her songs.
"A fan I suppose?" Avery tilted her head slightly.
"A very huge one." My voice dimmed in surprise, and I took her hand that was still stretched out, shaking it like it was gold.
"Payment's been done." She slid both the card and the dress on the counter, her smile now everlasting.
"Thank you."
The bell rang when we stepped out, I was still surprised at the fact that I was walking with a freaking star.
"So… mind letting me about the commotion there?"
"Ah…" my fingers locked together in embarrassment.
"You don't have to tell me if you feel uncomfortable with it." Her gaze locked on the sky, and her hand tightened on her coat she held in her hand. "Beautiful, don't you think?"
Before I got the chance to reply, we stopped at a black USV, it was clean right to the inside I imagined.
"This yours?" I asked.
"Mmm-hmm, wanna hop on?"
"No, no, no." I shook both my heads and hands in a panicked way.
I obviously couldn't get in… One, she just met me, and…
"Oh… if you say so." Few scary looking men stepped out, and opened the door, they equally made me keep my distance, and I could understand why.
My heart was still racing.
"We'd soon see again… wait-" Her expression changed, and at that moment did the car zoom off.
I never told her my name… could that have been what she wanted to ask?

The day passed, and as I sat in class with my head held low, I couldn't help but catch the chattering that was going outside, it was many and could grasp anyone's attention.
Slowly, I raised my head up, there was someone at the hallway that seemed to take up everyone's time and attention, and they equally seemed to take mine up.
I got up, tilting my head to get a glimpse of who it was, but after realizing that attempt wasn't working, I decided to take a closer look.
"Avery hummingbird? What could she be doing here?" whispers like those kept at it, and even I was surprised.
"Nabie!" Someone yelled my name, and I snapped my neck to where it came from.
The two scary men we're walking at me, and there was a small figure in the middle of them. It was Avery.
My same lit up in a smile, and we both approached each other. The whispers got louder, but I really didn't care.
"I told you we'd meet again soon."
