Taking a step into life

The day has passed after, I locked myself in my room, refusing to eat, or step out my days had gone gloomy, a dark cloud casting over my head.

My phone lit up, making so that it's the only light that shows in the room.

The room was dark, dark and lonely, I was the only company to it.

It was Avery, she texted me, and the message seemed to have clearly said; she was outside.

But I didn't care, I didn't even get more of a glimpse of it.

Someone knocked on the outside door, I heard Charlotte's steps heading towards it, and I took was curious to know who it was.

Getting up on my bed, I looked out the window.

There was a black Mercedess-Bennz Mercedess-Maybacch S-Class… it was as beautiful as the owner.

I turned my gaze to the door, and got a sight of Avery.

My heart raced and I quickly fucked under the covers before she could see me, everything went silent for nearly a minute, before my own door has a knock to it.

"Nabie… a friend is here to see you." The touch was gentle, and had no remorse to it.

But I didn't want to go out, I hadn't gone out in days, so why go now?

"Nabie?" The handle twisted when I hadn't given a response, but I was smatter than to have left my door open for anyone.

My hand gripped the sheets tighter, it was as if I wanted her to leave, but her worried tone got to me.

Charlotte had been stopping by for the couple of days I'd locked myself up, she'd usually do the same knock, and her voice still carried the same old worry it had.

I could hear her steps distancing away from my door, it looked like she finally gave up…

But. I looked out the window again…

"Avery?" Avery turned at the sound of her name she was just about leaving, but then stopped after seeing me.

"Nabie." She turned fully, rushing into my arms and pulling me into a tight hug. "You haven't been to school in 5 days… why?" Avery asked, her hands still wrapped against mine.

We both sat… and I looked at Charlotte to give us some space, she simply nodded and gave way, leaving to her room.

I looked down, my eyes held speechless emotions, one I myself could only describe.

"I…" I hesitated for a bit.

"You don't have to talk if you don't want to, you know that right?" her head tilted, her gaze trying to catch mine.

Obviously I didn't want to talk… not about it, or him.

I pulled her into one of my depressed hug's, my arms not to tight around her, and my eyes closing.

Avery smiled, and rubbed the back of my head, it was gentle, and soft, caring and kind, sweet and peaceful… It was beautifully done.

"Thank you…" But… prices had to be paid right? I mean, why would an idol, loved by all, want to be my friend?

"Avery?" I pulled away, ready to ask her the question that came to mind.

"Mm?" she replied.

"Why did you want to become my friend? At the store?"

Avery suddenly began laughing.

"Because I felt a connection towards you… you commanded Aura, and I wanted to be apart." My eyes softened, and I looked down.

I commanded Aura? No one had ever told me that…

Not before I died, or when I even came back.

Before I died… Avery had never been in my last life… not that I ever saw her… the only time I got to see her was over her concerts, which I watched on TV.

I looked back up at her, she was still wearing the same smile.

"It's still early... We can get to school if we hurry." Avery got up and took my hand, Jim and Jimmy stood still outside, watching me like a hawk.

The school's cafeteria was buzzing, everyone had sits of their own, and I couldn't help but look around.

It was packed, and had one table that was for the high of the high.

The Newton's table, they could invite anyone if they wanted, but... I could guess everyone below them was nothing.

I glanced at it, my hands holding my food tray as I followed Avery.

After we had gotten all our food, we turned and I noticed we were heading for their table.

Until, Ivy the witch bumped into me.

Spilling all my food, not on her but on me!

I let out a loud gasp, my tray clattered loudly on the floor, catching everyone's attention.

Her arms were crossed above her chest, and as usual, her minions were behind her, with the same smug look.

"Courtney told me what you did... Bold move there Reigns."
