I sat holding my book, that was named " LEVELS OF SECRET " i loved reading, I always wanted to know everything, to know my surroundings, I hated secrets, it was felt like a rash that refused to go, even though you apply multiple creams or solution , it stays, embodied in your skin, making you itch more and more and even if it goes it will leave a scar, because of the excessive scratching you did to your skin, reminding you of it every single time

I stared at my mom,as she cookedmy favorite dishes her long brown hair waved down her shoulders , " you know mom , you don't have to do this, am twenty four now, and I can basically take care of my self" I said even though she loved cooking for me, and there was no way I could stop her from doing so.

" That's what you say now, but I know you secretly enjoy my cooking" she said, and I rolled my eyes, I mean she was not wrong, I loved her cooking. " And am not going to stop cause you say so" she finished as she handed me the dishes she made for me, and oh my god it smelled divine.

A bacon cheese burgure and some homemade spaghetti, was What I needed this morning and I didn't even realize it. " See you love it" she said, he voice sounding like honey to my ears. " Go on now, eat , before it gets cold, I will go get your dad." she said , as I digged in, and the food felt divine , that I could literally die.

I got text from my phone, " found a mythical creature yet," luca by best friend, aka my co worker said and I rolled my eyes and texted, " if I do, I won't tell you" as soon as I pressed the notification button, I had a call from him.

" What do you want now?" I said, as I munched on the bacon, " can't I just check on my girlfriend anymore" he said and I could feel his smirk from the other end, "am sure lily, would love to hear this" I said teasingly, lily was luca, ex girlfriend and they have this on and off relationship that actually pisses me off, if he has a new girl, lily recks it up and the same goes for luca. " Oh ..no, I won't do that I were you , she'll cut your hair off" I rolled my eyes, I was afraid of lily, " are you sure about that , I think it was me who did that to her" I said remembering the incident between me and her. "Forget about lily, tell me what your gonna do today" luca asked as I slurpped my spaghetti. " What are you?, my manager" I asked teasingly," hahaha very funny" he said, " well am about to leave for work, after am done eating " " ohh .. what did your mom make, her famous lasagna ?" he asked , he and I had being friends since I graduated from college and I guess we were so lucky to have the same job, in the same place, he has tasted my mom's Cooking so he obsessed with it.

" None of your business " I said and he gasped," way to hurt me, you know am also part of your family" , he said and I rolled my eyes , "am going to hang up now, your talking to much" I said as I hung up the phone. " Dora" I turned towards the direction to which my mom called me.

" Your dad's waiting outside for you" she yelled. I cleared up my remaining plates and went towards the garage, where my dad was

" Took you long enough, " my dad said as I buckled my sit belt. My car broke down, when I was heading out to work the other day, and it it needed some repairs, I was planning on, ordering an Uber to work, but my dad offered to drive me there, and take me back , instead of me wasting money.

" Thanks, dad" I said as he started driving, he smiled "don't thank me, just be healthy for your old man, ok" I smiled while I rolling my eyes, " that's just your way of saying ; pay me back by buying me my favorite oat milk" I mimicked his rusty deep voice and he laughed heartly." I don't sound like that" he said, and I stared at him, judging him in way that said ' of course you do', he shook his head, " well that voice, is what your mom fell for" he said while raising his brows ," eww " I

Said, and my dad smiled , his brown hair blown by the wind coming from outside the window. I looked like my dad, brown hair and brown eyes, but I got my mom doe eyes , which by the way my dad said, he fell for. According to him, my mom was always curious , about things, wanted to find mythical creatures, secrets that shouldn't be unveiled, I know where I got that from. I was the only daughter, so my dad spoiled me rotten, my brother mark was off somewhere making music, yes he's a musician, my dad didn't approve of his choice of career, and he ran away after the constant argument they had, but dad tried to hide that he was hurt, even when he said he didn't care, but I could see through his facade.

The car stopped at the publishing industry. That where I work. I stared at the large building that wrote, "BEST NEWS" I sighed, I loved my job, but I felt something was going to happen today, , something that could change my life forever, " be careful okay?I have a weird feeling today" Luca's words echoed through my mind, I felt a huge knot in my stomach and it made me regretful of the burgers I ate earlier." doll, you okay" my dad snapped me out of thoughts, I nodded and smiled, I kissed him in the cheek , his beard rubbed against my chin, " love you" I said as I came down from the car, while holding my chanel hand bag"" love you, have a great day" he yelled as I walked to the door of the building.

The sounds of telephones ringing, whisked through my ears as I walked through the door, a normal person will be like, ' it's busy today' but, ironically it was our quietest moment.

Which didn't help with the knot I felt in my stomach , " dora" I turned tobe met with tom, my co worker, he wore a crisp black dress shirt and charcoal grey pants, looking all formal

. " What took you so long" he said, I tilted my head," um .... A very good day to you too, tom " I said sacartically, he rolled his eyes , before handing me a pile of paper work in my hands, I stared at them and stared at him. " What's this?" I asked, " well... The mayor, have decided to give us a whole lot of new, news, by sleeping with his wife sister" he said and I furrowed my eyebrows, " you mean the one who went missing, last year?" I asked, Randell is the mayor of Cullman, our town, his wife is the daughter of the governor of the state, but according to rumors, he hated, his wife , and loved his sister. He cheated on his wife, with his sister a year ago, and the both of them had a huge fight, that caused, our town a huge problem , and they decided to get divorce, but no one heard of the sister , nothing from, her, a few months after the incident, they declared her missing, after she tried to go to California on a business trip, some said she was dead . " Yeah, exactly" tom said, and some one anonymously sent a picture to us on Instagram " I checked all the paperwork,they were pictures of the mayor and his wife sister coming out of the hotel room together.

I huffed, " please explain to me why he is the mayor again?"... I asked, " because his rich, and we live in a corrupt society" I he said, " so am now meant to find out where she was all this time" I said, and he nodded. " But it isn't any our business, the mayor is just a womanizer" I said, " well it is our business, because she ran with the towns, community money and suddenly turned up after ....like one year" he said and I nodded, " ok, fine, I'll look into this matter" he nodded before walking away.
