"You, you, you... You rascal!"
Su Qingli was almost in tears from anger. She wasn't stupid; she could clearly understand what Lu Han meant by his teasing.
But her good upbringing and natural reserve prevented her from acting like a shrew, even though she really wanted to give Lu Han a piece of her mind.
Of course, calling him a "rascal" without real anger was also because she wasn't truly upset.
In fact, Su Qingli secretly thought that if they had gotten a real marriage certificate earlier, and if Lu Han admitted he was a "dog," she might actually be willing to go all the way with him... It didn't seem entirely impossible.
However, as soon as this thought crossed her mind, Su Qingli was shocked and quickly shook her head to dispel the idea from her mind.
"Hehe, I've always been a rascal; it's not like you didn't know that."
Lu Han wasn't ashamed but rather proud. His hand, which had just left her face full of collagen, now rested on her leg.
Su Qingli, feeling somewhat bullied, initially didn't want to engage with Lu Han. But the thought of him spending time with Shen Luoyan tonight filled her with a sense of crisis.
No, she couldn't let that woman take advantage of the situation. At least for the next few days, she needed an excuse to keep Lu Han close.
With a tone bordering on coquettish, Su Qingli said, "Lu Han, don't leave everything about house hunting and renovation to me alone. Can you at least accompany me?"
Her soft pleading worked, and after some consideration, Lu Han nodded. "Alright, but you have to feed me, and if I get tired, you need to massage my legs and back."
"Deal!"
Su Qingli agreed with a pout, finding Lu Han's increasing demands infuriating. She really wanted to bite him.
When she dropped Lu Han off at home, Su Qingli still felt uneasy and reminded him, "I'll pick you up at eight tomorrow morning. Remember to wake up early."
"Why don't you sleep in a bit? I'll come to pick you up," Lu Han suggested. He usually got up before six to exercise, and considering the time for breakfast and travel, he would arrive at Jade Garden around eight anyway.
As soon as Su Qingli left satisfied, Lu Han received a WeChat message from Shen Luoyan.
It contained a string of numbers—her smart lock password—and a follow-up message: "I miss you."
Lu Han didn't know how to respond. Saying he missed her too would be insincere, especially given Shen Luoyan's keen perception. But saying he didn't miss her would be hurtful.
Being a playboy wasn't easy...
After some thought, Lu Han sent a pat-on-the-head emoji, leaving the rest to Shen Luoyan's imagination.

Almost simultaneously, in a hidden house in Jiangcheng, Lu Ming sat coldly on the sofa. Beside him stood a man in his forties, muscular and clearly well-trained.
"Uncle Chen, did you find the person I asked for?" Lu Ming's tone was icy, completely different from his usual polite demeanor.
"I found them," Uncle Chen hesitated, adding, "Forgive me for saying so, but aren't you overreacting a bit?"
"We can't underestimate Lu Han," Lu Ming shook his head. "Someone who grew up in an orphanage often has extreme personalities. My existence is like a cuckoo taking over his nest; he won't let it go easily."
"You saw the video of him beating people outside Night Shade Bar, right? Impressive, one man taking down a dozen without a scratch."
"So, we must be cautious. Who knows if he'll do something desperate? I have no intention of dying alongside him."
Uncle Chen nodded. While he believed Lu Han's fighting skills weren't much to worry about, Lu Ming's caution made sense.
After a moment of silence, Lu Ming asked, "Uncle Chen, do you think I'm heartless?"
"No," Uncle Chen replied immediately, shaking his head. "Great men don't sweat the small stuff. Your thinking is correct."
Before Lu Han returned, Lu Ming was the only son of Lu Zhensheng, destined to inherit everything with a simple nod. Faced with such huge benefits, even blood brothers could turn against each other, let alone half-brothers.
Especially since Lu Ming and Lu Han shared no familial bond, there was no reason to show mercy.
Uncle Chen's analysis was spot-on, but he didn't know the true reason behind Lu Ming's desire to eliminate Lu Han—a woman.
Lu Ming had long harbored feelings for Lu Xue, a secret known only to him. He could wait patiently for her affection, but seeing her constantly around Lu Han drove him mad.
"Oh, one more thing," Uncle Chen suddenly mentioned. "Recently, someone named Wan Shiqiang seems to be investigating the car accident from years ago."
Lu Ming frowned. "You mean that famous private detective? Who hired him?"
"It seems to be Lu Han," Uncle Chen explained. "The day Lu Han beat people outside Night Shade Bar, Wan Shiqiang was also there. I investigated and found out they met at a nearby teahouse afterward, spending at least half an hour together."
Lu Ming narrowed his eyes. "Keep an eye on Wan Shiqiang. Inform me immediately if anything happens."
"Don't you want to get rid of him?" Uncle Chen asked curiously. Letting a potential threat linger wasn't Lu Ming's style.
Lu Ming silently cursed him as a fool. "Killing him would alert Lu Han. How is that different from telling him outright that the car accident wasn't an accident?"
Uncle Chen realized the wisdom in this and gruffly responded, "So, we let Wan Shiqiang continue his investigation? What if he finds something?"
"After more than ten years, it won't be easy to uncover anything," Lu Ming sneered. "We can deal with him when he finds something concrete. By then, whether we kill him or not, Lu Han will suspect us. I want Wan Shiqiang to have money but no life!"
Just as Uncle Chen was about to say more, there was a knock on the door.
Knock, knock, knock…
As Uncle Chen opened the door, a man with a wooden expression entered. Around thirty years old, tall, and somewhat handsome.
Lu Ming gestured for Uncle Chen to come closer and whispered, "He doesn't look very strong. Is he reliable?"
"Rest assured," Uncle Chen murmured. "Red Sister recommended him; he's fine."
Turning to the stoic man, he ordered, "What are you standing there for? Introduce yourself!"
"Hello, Young Master Lu," the man said calmly. "My name is Li Dongsheng."
