Chapter 41: Lee’s Wrath and Gen’s Dilemma

The moment Wang closed the door, Lee pushed Gen off and stood up, her face completely red—not from embarrassment, but from anger.

"You—" Lee pointed at Gen, struggling to form words. "You idiot!"

Gen sat up on the bed, looking completely unbothered. "Hey, hey, relax, babe. It's not like we were actually doing anything."

Lee shot her a deadly glare. "It looked like we were doing something!"

Gen shrugged. "Well, yeah, but we weren't. No harm, no foul."

Lee groaned, rubbing her temples. "You are unbelievable."

Before Gen could say another word, Lee stormed out of the room.

"Where are you going?" Gen called after her.

Lee didn't even look back. "To check why Mom came in the first place. Unlike you, I actually care."

Gen flinched at the sharpness in her tone.

Uh-oh.

Lee was actually mad this time.

Lee and Wang's Conversation

Lee found Wang sitting in the living room, sipping tea as if nothing had happened.

Lee cleared her throat. "Mom."

Wang glanced up. "Hmm?"

Lee hesitated, feeling a little awkward after what had just happened. "Why… did you come to my room?"

Wang took another sip before answering. "Oh, I was just going to ask if you two needed extra blankets."

Lee sighed, pressing a hand to her forehead. "Great. That's just great."

Wang raised an eyebrow. "So… should I pretend I didn't just see that?"

Lee groaned. "There was nothing to see!"

Wang smirked. "Mhm. Sure."

Lee gave her a frustrated look. "Mom, please don't make this worse."

Wang chuckled. "Alright, alright. I'll drop it." She stood up and placed a hand on Lee's shoulder. "But you should talk to Gen. She looked a little lost when you left."

Lee sighed. "She should be lost. This is all her fault."

Wang smiled knowingly. "Maybe. But you still care."

Lee huffed, crossing her arms. "Whatever."

Gen's Dilemma

Back in the bedroom, Gen lay flat on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

Okay, so Lee is mad. Really mad.

She sighed, rolling over. How do I fix this?

She considered sneaking out to eavesdrop on Lee and Wang's conversation, but if Lee caught her, it would only make things worse.

She needed a plan.

Or maybe she just needed to apologize?

Gen groaned, covering her face. "I suck at apologies."

Just then, the door opened, and Lee walked back in.

Gen quickly sat up, ready to talk—except Lee didn't even look at her. She just grabbed a blanket from the closet and tossed it onto the couch.

Gen frowned. "Uh… what are you doing?"

Lee turned to her, crossing her arms. "I'm sleeping on the couch."

Gen's jaw dropped. "Wait, what? That's my spot!"

Lee smirked. "Not tonight. You can sleep in the bed alone."

Gen gasped dramatically. "Babe, no!"

Lee ignored her and lay down on the couch, facing away.

Gen groaned. Okay, now I really messed up.

She sat on the edge of the bed, staring at Lee's back. After a moment, she sighed.

Looks like she had some serious making up to do.
