Chapter 9

"Has the agreement been signed?" I didn't beat around the bush, cutting straight to the chase.

He hesitated for a moment when he saw my agent pushing the wheelchair behind me.

He had met my agent before.

Although his gaze returned to me, his voice was hoarse:

"Sapphire, I don't blame you for taking Aria away and disrupting the entire exhibition plan."

"It's my fault. I didn't consider your feelings. Will you come back with me? I'll tell everyone that you're my lawful wife."

"We can't get divorced. Although Aria is very talented, it's impossible for you to survive relying on her."

I looked back at him. There was no point in hiding anything now, so I said:

"I can survive perfectly well on my own."

He seemed not to understand what I said, staring blankly at me, then at my agent.

"Miss Gerald is Aria," my agent said.

This time he understood, asking my agent in disbelief:

"Are you sure you didn't misspeak?"

I answered his question directly: "She didn't misspeak. I am Aria."
