As the plane touched down, I knew instantly that this was where I wanted to settle down.
I ignored the annoying missed call notifications as my phone powered on.
My agent helped me collect my luggage, and at the exit, I saw the client who had come to greet me.
My agent mentioned that the client, upon learning I was disabled, had specifically offered to welcome me. What I hadn't expected was that this person would turn out to be my college classmate, Cort.
Back in school, Cort was the heartthrob of all us girls. He was tall, handsome, and a top student to boot.
Now, after all these years, he had an added air of mature masculinity about him, somehow making him even more attractive.
I instinctively glanced down at my legs, and a long-forgotten feeling of insecurity inexplicably welled up inside me.
He, however, seemed not to notice, approaching me with a warm smile in his eyes:
"Sapphire, don't you remember me?"
As he came closer, he even bent down to embrace me.
