Chapter 6

Elowen stared at the divorce papers in my hand, completely stunned.

"Gunner, you want to divorce me just because of this?"

"I admit I was a bit too emotional earlier..."

"But our seven years of love, you're just throwing it away? Have you even considered my feelings?"

Looking at her distorted face, I could only find it laughable.

Had she ever considered how I felt these past seven years, being her husband but unable to openly acknowledge our relationship?

Having to watch her mingle with others, even forced to smile along, all while my heart ached?

But now, there's no point in saying any of this to her.

I took a deep breath, my gaze steady.

"There's no need for us to keep arguing."

"Just sign it, Elowen."

"The house, the company shares, if you want them, keep them all."

"I just want a divorce now."

My tone was firm, without a hint of hesitation.

Elowen was taken aback, then gritted her teeth and said:

"Gunner, stop acting all high and mighty in front of me!"
