Chapter 9

I couldn't help but let her come along.

This time, the wolf packs on the prairie were even more unruly. I brought a large wolf with me, fully equipped.

I had trained the big wolf pretty well, and it was very obedient to me.

Whenever other wolf packs showed signs of aggression, the big wolf would howl and stand protectively in front of me.

After reaching our destination, the place ahead looked very familiar.

Crysta stood there, stunned for a long while.

After going round and round, we had come back to square one.

A hungry wolf approached, the same one that Crysta and Levi had insisted on feeding before.

I prepared some meat and placed it in front of it.

Seeing the meat, the hungry wolf tore into it, devouring it. Gradually, it started to howl.

The last time we were here, Crysta had praised it for being grateful.

I expressed my concern, saying, "It might attract more hungry wolves."
