Chapter 2 My woman, my wife!?

Axel POV

Time flies and at the same time moves so slow; I cannot wait to finally call Serena my wife.

I would have married her a long time ago without all this unnecessary hassle, and she agrees with me on that, but my parents were very against it, and we had to agree with their demands.

Serena's parents had died in a car accident 10 years ago, and my family became guardians for Serena and her younger brother, Liam.

Our parents were bussnes partners and a very close friends, so it was natural for them to wanting to look after kids that become parent less. There was no way that my mum would let them go to orphanage, she just adores Serena and with Liam they have this spiritual connection.

At the same time I am excited to see her in a wedding dress, there is something about it that makes me ecstatic and possessive, knowing that no man will dare to make a move on her knowing she is my woman, my wife...

This morning I ran out of patience and went to her suite; it was next to mine. My mom and her friends separate us because of some stupid tradition: the groom should not see the bride before the wedding. How stupid is that...

And there was something else. I just felt that she needed me; there was this strange pull to see her.

After the ceremony there will be no one standing between us, and I will have her all to myself for the whole month while we are on our honeymoon.

She doesn't know that yet, but for our honeymoon we are going to Africa and will visit a few countries there. It was her dream to travel to Zanzibar, but we are going to visit other countries there.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on my door.

-"OH, hi Livia, is it already time?"- I looked at the clock on the wall; it was only 10am, so we had 2 hours to go.

-"No, there are about two hours to go, but I need you to see something now. Come with me."- "She grabbed my hand and started pulling me toward the exit.

"Can it wait after the ceremony?" - I start getting worried; did something happen?

-"Did something happen? Is anyone hurt?" - I asked her while she was still pulling me towards the elevator.

-" Everyone is okay, but there is something I need to show you, and you must see it before the ceremony. "She pressed the button, and the elevator door closed.

-"Livia, I have no time for this; you know I am getting married in 2 hours, and I still have many things to do and check before that."- I start getting irritated; she knows how important this day is for me.

Livia is my best friend, and I know her from when we were kids, but she can be a pain...

Our families had some business connections, and naturally, we spent a lot of time together since we were little.

She was a smart, well-balanced, pretty young lady who was a great friend of mine through school and university.

Something I think she stuck with me because it was always hard for her to find friends, and I was familiar to her, and we got along well.

There was another truth for her wanting to be my friend; she had a crush on me, and I knew about it... She confessed to me when we were in high school... Well, and for me, I did not see her in that light at all.

I have to be honest; she is a very beautiful woman, but I just didn't like her that way at all.

We had difficult conversations at that time, and I told her that I loved her but only as a friend because I was in love with Serena.

We fell out for some time, and I did not blame her; she had the right to be upset with me, but at the same time, I had to be honest with her and myself for that matter.

But after a few months, she called, and everything went back to how it was before.

-"Axel, you don't understand. I saw Serena with a strange man who I don't think is part of the wedding party." - The elevator door opened, and without any other explanation, she headed towards guest rooms.

This place was one of my hotels that I owned and I know every corner of this place. We were walking towards VIP suites when Serena and I were staying in President suites, so she should not be here. Serena was supposed to be with her girlfriends getting ready upstairs.

I know Livia has always been on guard with Serena and has never really been close with her, even though I tried many times for them to become friends... They are from different backgrounds; Livia comes from an aristocratic family with lineage to the royal family in Europe and always says that we should marry someone from the same class.

Serena comes from a family where both of her parents had to work hard to achieve their success.

And for me that did not matter at all; I love Serena and would marry her even if she comes from slums...

As much I appreciate out friendships and her looking after me but this is going to far and I need to drow the line, Serena is going to be my wife and Livia need to respect that.

"—Livia, I know you're cautious around Serena, but she is going to be my wife, and whatever reason she has to meet that man, I trust her. You need to learn how to respect her... Please, could you slow down..." - I was getting angry at this point; Livia was not stopping and not listening to me.

Finally she stopped next to one of the doors. I was about to tell her off when she opened the door without knocking, and my heart had stopped...
