Neo-Babylon – Slum District
Kai Vance was running for his life.
His breath came in ragged gasps as he vaulted over a rusted barricade, landing in the grimy backstreets of Neo-Babylon's undercity. The entire district reeked of burnt circuitry, oil, and desperation. The people here didn't ask questions. They just kept their heads down and survived.
Kai didn't have that luxury.
Behind him, three cybernetic enforcers—Titan Industries' finest—were in full pursuit. Their mechanical limbs whirred, servos hissing as they closed the distance.
"Citizen Kai Vance, you are in possession of stolen data. Surrender immediately."
Kai had zero clue what they were talking about. The only thing he was guilty of was being at the wrong place at the worst possible time.
But they weren't going to listen.
One of them raised an arm-mounted railgun—charging fast.
Kai dropped low at the last second. The shot missed his head by an inch, melting through the steel wall beside him.
"Oh, great. Railguns. That's fair."
His mind raced, calculating the fastest escape route. He needed to improvise—fast.

Cornered in a Cyber Slum
Kai bolted into an alley, barely ducking under a swinging pipe as he turned a sharp corner.
A dead end.
"Shit."
The enforcers slowed their approach, forming a triangle around him.
"Last warning. Surrender."
Kai exhaled slowly. If a fight was unavoidable, he had to make it quick.
The first enforcer lunged—too predictable.
Kai sidestepped and drove his elbow into its exposed neck joint, severing a cluster of cybernetic nerves. The enforcer jerked violently before collapsing.
The second fired a taser—Kai twisted mid-air, the electroshock barely grazing his jacket. He landed, grabbed a nearby metal pipe, and swung it like a baseball bat—directly into the enforcer's head. Sparks flew as it crumpled.
The last one hesitated.
"He's a high-value target. Proceed with ca—"
Kai didn't let him finish. He dashed forward, jumping off the slumped enforcer's body and delivered a spinning kick to the last one's skull. The impact sent the cybernetic officer flying into a trash heap.
Kai landed, gripping his ribs. Three against one was not fun.
And then—
More footsteps.
Kai's stomach dropped.

The First Encounter – The Corporate Enforcer
A new figure emerged from the shadows.
Unlike the bulky enforcers, this one was sleek, fast, and deadly. A woman in a black exo-suit, high-grade cybernetics visible along her arms and spine. Her piercing silver eyes locked onto him like a predator.
Kai had seen enough bounty notices to recognize her.
"Valkyrie."
Titan Industries' most feared enforcer.
She tilted her head, analyzing him.
"You're faster than I expected," she said, voice cold and calculated. "But not fast enough."
Kai wiped the sweat from his brow. "Can we skip to the part where I miraculously escape?"
Valkyrie responded by drawing her blade—a monomolecular vibro-sword. It hummed menacingly.
Kai sighed.
"Yeah. Didn't think so."
