Inside the luxurious car that glided smoothly along the road, Luo Fan sat with his arms crossed, his face sullen. He rested his cheek against the window, watching the passing scenery with a bored expression.
Beside him, his twin brother, Luo Tian, sat with an upright and elegant posture, as if he were a prince on an official journey. His noble aura was so strong that anyone who saw him would be instantly captivated.
From the front seat, their caretaker, Aunt Zhang, turned around with a warm smile. "How was your day at school today, Young Master Tian, Young Master Fan?" she asked gently.
Luo Fan sniffed arrogantly, his eyes still fixed on the window. "Hmph, boring," he replied lazily.
Aunt Zhang chuckled softly, seemingly used to Luo Fan's tsundere personality. "Oh? Boring, you say? Was there something that made you uncomfortable?"
Luo Fan didn't answer, only letting out a small huff.
Meanwhile, Luo Tian smiled gracefully and answered enthusiastically, "Today was great, Madam Zhang! We learned a lot of new things, and my teacher praised my handwriting!"
"Oh? As expected of Young Master Tian, you truly are talented!" Madam Zhang praised, admiration clear in her voice.
Luo Fan scoffed softly but said nothing. Hah, just look at how perfect he is, he thought to himself.
To be honest, he was a little envious. After all, he had assumed that after time-traveling, he would have photographic memory, just like other time-traveling protagonists.
With such an ability, wouldn't he become a genius?
Unfortunately, he didn't have that ability.
Oh, and by the way, his grades in kindergarten weren't particularly impressive—they were actually quite average compared to his "perfect" brother.
The reason for his average grades was simple: he didn't want to stand out too much. Imagine getting perfect scores in kindergarten, then in elementary school...
Would he be able to keep scoring perfectly in middle school and college?
He wasn't sure.
That's why he created his image in kindergarten—the mischievous, somewhat foolish child.
And now, he enjoyed it. He didn't have to bear his parents' expectations. His brother could take on that burden for him.
Wasn't that great? He could just lie back and relax while his brother carried all the weight.
Just thinking about it put him in a better mood.
The journey continued as their luxury car entered an exclusive neighborhood filled with grand villas. Each house was designed with extravagant elegance, a clear sign of its wealthy owners.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a large villa with a refined design. However, even though their house was already extravagant, the villa next door was even bigger and more magnificent. Luo Fan had seen it many times but knew little about their neighbors. What he did know was that his parents seemed quite familiar with them.
As soon as the car door opened, a man stood at the villa's entrance, waiting for them with a warm smile. It was their father.
"Luo Tian, Luo Fan, you're home," he greeted in a friendly tone.
Luo Tian immediately beamed and greeted him cheerfully. "Father, we're home!"
Meanwhile, Luo Fan barely glanced at him before completely ignoring him and walking inside without a word.
"..."
Their father could only offer a resigned smile at his son's tsundere behavior.
As soon as Luo Fan stepped through the grand entrance, an opulent interior greeted him. A dazzling crystal chandelier hung from the high ceiling, the polished marble floors gleamed flawlessly, and the expensive furniture was arranged with perfect precision.
But for Luo Fan, all of this was just ordinary. After five years of living here, luxury no longer impressed him.
Without hesitation, he quickly removed his shoes and dashed toward the stairs, passing through the living room without looking back.
"Fan'er, walk slowly," his father called out, but his words went unanswered.
Luo Fan didn't care. He had one goal—his room. He didn't even bother greeting his mother, who was sitting in the living room, and instead sprinted up to the second floor at full speed.
The reason was simple: he wanted to sleep.
When he reached his room, he quickly opened the door, slammed it shut behind him, and threw himself onto the soft bed.
"Hah… finally, I can sleep."
Meanwhile, downstairs, his father let out a sigh, his expression slightly dim.
"He didn't even speak to me," he muttered, sounding disappointed.
Luo Tian, standing beside him, also glanced toward the stairs with a slightly sad expression. "Father, don't be disheartened. Little brother is just a bit shy," he said gently.
His father gave a bitter smile. "That's not the problem, Tian. You know, I just wish he could be more like you—calm, wise, and thoughtful."
Luo Tian's eyes flickered for a moment, but he said nothing.
In his room, Luo Fan lay comfortably on his bed, his small body sinking into the soft blankets. His eyes were half-closed, on the verge of sleep when—
Knock, knock, knock.
A knocking sound echoed from his door. He groaned softly, feeling too lazy to get up.
"Little brother, open the door," his brother's calm and gentle voice came from outside.
Luo Fan twitched. Instantly, his drowsiness vanished.
Why is he here? he thought with a sigh. Reluctantly, he got up and walked toward the door. When he opened it, Luo Tian stood there, now dressed in an elegant dark blue silk pajama set.
Meanwhile, Luo Fan was still wearing the same clothes from the morning, his hair slightly messy from rolling around in bed. The contrast between them was striking.
Without waiting for an invitation, Luo Tian stepped into the room. Luo Fan could only close the door behind him before turning around and asking, "What do you want?"
Luo Tian looked at him with his usual calm expression, but a hint of firmness flickered in his eyes. "Fan'er, your attitude earlier was really rude. At the very least, you could have greeted Father before running off to your room."
Luo Fan yawned slightly and shrugged. "I was tired, that's all," he answered nonchalantly.
Luo Tian's expression tensed a little. "Being tired is no excuse for being impolite. Father works hard, and you couldn't even spare him a bit of attention."
Luo Fan listened to the lecture, but instead of feeling guilty, he simply nodded absentmindedly. The words went in one ear and out the other.
Seeing his little brother's indifferent reaction, Luo Tian finally lost patience. He let out a deep sigh and gave Luo Fan a cold stare.
"Little brother, if you keep acting like this, I will—"
"I'm sorry!" Luo Fan blurted out before Luo Tian could finish. He knew that if his brother truly got angry, the house's atmosphere would be uncomfortable for days.
Luo Tian paused, his expression softening slightly. "Are you serious?"
Luo Fan nodded quickly. "Yes, yes! I'll be more polite next time!"
Seeing his younger brother's slightly anxious face, Luo Tian finally relented. He sighed and gave a small smile.
"Alright, I'll believe you this time," he said, ruffling Luo Fan's hair gently.
Luo Fan grumbled softly but didn't resist. At least, the tension was gone.
Luo Tian then eyed his brother's outfit and sighed. "Fan'er, before you come downstairs, change your clothes first. You can't have dinner in those."
Luo Fan groaned. "Yeah, yeah, I know," he replied lazily.
Luo Tian watched him for a moment before finally heading for the door. "Don't take too long," he said before leaving.
Once the door closed, Luo Fan let out a long sigh and ruffled his own hair. "Haaah… that brother of mine is really like a nagging mom."
Even so, he quickly changed into a simple gray pajama set before heading downstairs for dinner.
---
Upon arriving at the dining room, all his family members were already seated—only he was missing.
At the head of the table sat his mother, Luo Mei, a beautiful woman with long brown hair and sharp eyes that exuded the authority of a family head. Beside her was his father, Wang Jian, a handsome man with black hair and a warm smile, appearing more relaxed compared to his wife.
Luo Tian was already seated with perfect posture, looking graceful and elegant as always.
As Luo Fan entered, all eyes turned to him.
"Sorry, I'm late," he said hurriedly before taking his seat.
Luo Mei glanced at him briefly before giving a small nod. "Alright, let's start eating."
An exquisite meal was laid out on the table, and they began eating quietly.
"How was your day at school?" Luo Mei asked while picking up a piece of meat with her chopsticks.
Luo Fan chewed his food before replying casually, "The same as usual."
In contrast, Luo Tian answered enthusiastically, eagerly recounting various events at school. "Today, I got praised by the teacher for solving a math problem the fastest. Then, my friends also invited me to play at the park!"
Hearing this, Wang Jian chuckled and nodded proudly. "As expected from my eldest son. You always make the family proud."
Luo Mei also smiled. "Well done, Tian'er. Keep up the good work."
Luo Fan remained focused on his meal, showing no reaction.
He was used to situations like this. Luo Tian had always been the center of attention—perfect in every way. As for him? Not bad, but not remarkable either.
But he didn't care.
Throughout dinner, he remained silent, finishing his meal quietly as if the praise had nothing to do with him at all.
