Love at First Sight

Mira tried to talk to Zero, but he avoided her gaze, stepping aside as if he hadn't heard her. Annoyed, she turned to her friend with a small pout. "Am I not pretty? Why is he avoiding me?"

Her friend chuckled, shaking her head. "You're the goddess of our class! Maybe he's just shy or lost in his own world."

Mira huffed, folding her arms. She had developed a crush on Zero ever since he had saved her. There was something about him—the way he carried himself, the quiet intensity in his eyes—that intrigued her. She wanted to know more about him, but he was so distant, always slipping away before she could get close.

Determined, she stepped toward him again as the bus neared its next stop. "My name is Mira."

Zero glanced at her, his expression unreadable. "My name is Zero," he said simply before turning away.

The bus came to a halt, and the doors hissed open. Passengers shuffled out onto the bustling street, disappearing into the crowd. Mira watched as Zero walked ahead, his posture relaxed but his presence commanding.

Curiosity burned inside her, and before she knew it, her feet moved on their own. She followed him.

Zero entered the Hall of Hunters Museum, his eyes immediately drawn to the towering exhibits. Weapons encased in glass, battle-worn armor once donned by legendary hunters, and most striking of all—an enormous dragon skeleton suspended from the ceiling.

The S-rank dragon's skull alone was the size of a small house, its fangs sharp even in death. The remains of its massive wings stretched across the room, a haunting reminder of its former strength. A plaque beneath it detailed the historic battle that had taken place decades ago—a clash between twenty S-rank hunters and this very beast. They had fought relentlessly, their weapons barely enough to pierce its scales. After a brutal struggle, they had finally slain the creature, but not without heavy losses.

Zero's gaze darkened. "If these beasts continue appearing on the Blue Planet, our peaceful life will be lost forever," he thought.

He clenched his fists. The balance of power was shifting. The world was changing, and people had no idea how close they were to catastrophe.

"We meet again."

Zero turned abruptly at the familiar voice. Mira stood beside him, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. She had an uncanny ability to show up when he least expected it.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked, tilting her head.

Zero studied her for a moment. She looked so carefree, so different from the weight he carried on his shoulders. He let out a soft sigh. "You again..." he muttered under his breath.

Mira smiled, unfazed by his aloofness. "Looks like fate keeps bringing us together."

Zero said nothing, but for the first time, he found himself wondering—was it fate, or was she just incredibly persistent?
