Preplanned

As the hunters entered the building, Zero activated his skill, Shadow Hide, allowing him to vanish within a 100-meter range. Moving undetected, he crept after them.

Inside a dimly lit room, the hunters gathered around a table, laughing amongst themselves. Zero crouched in the shadows, listening carefully.

"We killed five ordinary people yesterday," one of them sneered. "They didn't even see it coming!"

The others erupted into laughter. "Pathetic fools," another scoffed. "They can't even use powers."

Zero's fists clenched. There were fifteen of them—ten B-rank and five A-rank. Their laughter confirmed his suspicions; the robbery had been staged. These so-called hunters were nothing more than criminals.

He wanted to rush in and take them down, but he knew he was outmatched. He could handle the B-rank ones, but the A-rank hunters were too strong for him alone. Instead, he activated Blindness, targeting the A-rank hunters. Their laughter turned into confusion as they staggered, blinded for ten seconds.

Zero wasted no time. He lunged at the B-rank hunters, striking them down one by one. His fists moved like lightning, breaking bones and crushing throats. Blood splattered the walls as he eliminated his enemies with ruthless efficiency.

But ten seconds wasn't long enough. As the blindness wore off, the A-rank hunters roared in fury, seeing their fallen comrades.

"You bastard!" one of them snarled. "You dare kill our friends? After we finish you, we'll find your family and kill them too!"

Zero's eyes darkened. He had no family. But their threats only fueled his rage.

The A-rank hunters launched their attacks—Wind Slash, Wind Cutter, Wind Punch, and Wind Blow—each one faster than the last. Zero dodged, but some strikes hit him. Blood dripped from his wounds, pain burning through his body.

"Damn it… they're too strong!" Zero thought. His breathing grew heavier. His stamina was depleting.

He had to escape.

He turned to run, but a Wind Slash struck his back, knocking him to the ground. The hunters laughed, surrounding him.

"Did you really think you could run?" one mocked.

Zero gritted his teeth. His vision blurred, but he refused to give up. Checking his status, he saw he had five unused attribute points. Without hesitation, he allocated four to Strength and one to Agility.

His stats adjusted:

Strength: 9

Agility: 11

Stamina: 11

Defense: 5

A new surge of power coursed through him.

The fight wasn't over yet.
