A Love Letter And A Magic Book

They were boldly written on the front book, Magic-Of-The-Ancient. Now, what the hell on earth is a magic book doing in the alpha's room? He is not a wizard and it doesn't appear he wants to be one either. I have read so many magic books during my stay with lady Gia nevertheless, I was convinced the book I had seen arranged on the shelf may have a cutting edge over the other books I have read. The more I stared at it was the more the temptation, to hold it in my hands and read every page growing stronger. 'Should I grab it at once and read it to satisfy my curiosity or should I just ignore it and keep thinking about my miserable life? What about the alpha? How will he react if he suddenly burst into the room unannounced only to find me going through his book?' I don't have the right answers to these questions but one thing is for sure, the alpha will never touch a strand of my hair as long as I'm important to him. Especially now that I have offered him a promising solution to his problem.

'Come on Louis! You can do this. Don't be scared.' I told myself. As if that was not enough to boost my confidence, I quickly closed my eyes and stretched out my hand to the shelf which can be easily reached while lying on the bed. When I grabbed the book, I opened my eyes to see how marvelous it was. The name of the book was attractive enough to anyone who has an interest in magic. I sat on the bed and brought the oblong burning candle closer to myself, the only source of light in the room. Gracious enough, the illumination from the candle was able to aid me in reading the book. The first page I opened contained the name of the author of the book, William Callaway. The down part of the first page contained the year of publication, 1245. 'Wow!' I exclaimed. 'That must have been a long time ago.' Where the hell did he get this book?' I wondered again.

I decided to skim through the book before slowly reading them page after page. As I flipped the pages quickly, a written note fell off from the dog-eared edge of the book.

'Oh god!' I picked up the written piece of paper and held it in my hands with care. 'What have I done?' I stood up from the bed, walked closer to the doorway, and carefully, peeped through the curtain to see if anyone was coming. 'Thank god no one is coming,' I eased a sigh of relief before tip-toeing back to the bed. I sat down, kept the book aside, and made one hell of a decision to look into the written piece.

When I unfolded it properly, I discovered it was a letter written a long time ago. The quality of the paper suggests it was a pretty long time ago.

'Who could have written these to the alpha or was he the one who wrote them and forgot to send them?' I don't know which one of my assumptions is correct but, I believe that by going through them the content of the letter will give me insight into the possible writer. The letter reads:

Dear Ammon, it has been more than seven years since you left in search of a solution to the very problem which shattered our dreams of being together, and our fantasy of leading our pack and bringing glory and prosperity to our wolf clan. It pains me so much to write this letter to you, my love. Believe me, if there was any way I could do anything to end the misery that had fallen upon us, I would have done that a long time ago. It breaks my heart that I will spend the rest of my life without you in it. Alpha Milan had threatened to hunt you down in exile and kill you if I don't accept to be his mate. I had no choice but to do what he says. Our relationship is over Ammon, not because I don't love you—I really do. I don't want you to suffer anymore. Milan will not stop at anything until he has your head brought back home in a bag. Just to show you how dangerous he is, he knows your current location. I recommend you leave where you are right now and move further away. Always be careful, Milan is watching you all the time therefore, trust no strangers, they could be his spies. Move on with your life. Find a wolf-Luna who will be your mate for I have seized to be your future mate from the moment you opened this letter to read.

This is the last time you will hear from me Ammon my love. Bye and be strong.

Yours truly,

Diana.

The content of the letter cleared my doubt about the writer. It was very obvious the letter was from someone close to his heart.

'How sad the alpha must have felt after reading this heart-breaking letter from possibly the one who could have become his Luna mate.' A stream of tears rolled down my eyes. Although what I have read had nothing to do with me, it did trigger my emotional state at that moment. The bizarre part remains, I was feeling for the very barbaric who held me hostage and treated me like an animal.

I carefully folded the written piece of paper, exactly as it was before, and put it back on one of the pages of the book. I began skimming again. Suddenly, I saw another folded paper buried in one of the middle pages of the book. Just like the previous one, I opened it expecting to read perhaps, another love letter. I was disappointed when I unfolded it. It wasn't what I had expected. The shit of paper contained an image probably drawn by the alpha because beneath the image was an inscription: Diana my love.

The image I just saw must be Diana. The alpha was probably drawing her from his memory. The image on the paper was beautiful. It suggested the alpha was also a good artist.

'So you are the one who has been tormenting him?' I asked the image as if she would respond to me. I folded it back and placed it inside the book again. I started skimming again but his time, nothing fell out.

'Now I will have to concentrate on the book,' I told myself.

Everything about the book was quite interesting. It was full of magic. Sadly, I can't continue to read them because, I started hearing some strange noises but, I couldn't determine where they came from. Hurriedly, I got up from the bed to put the book back where it belonged. I succeeded in placing it back without anyone detecting I had touched anything. Just as I turned my back to lay on the bed again, behold the alpha was standing very close to me. He had caught me red-handed. 'I wondered how many seconds or minutes he had been standing there, watching me explore his personal properties. It was only a matter of seconds before he reacts.
