Chapter 0049: Shock at the Arrival of a Visitor from Beyond the Earth

"I was summoned by the Master, and after agreeing to the contract, I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I found myself here. I don't know how I got here," Gina explained, shaking her head in confusion. It seemed she had no recollection of how she arrived.

"But..."

At that moment, Gina suddenly seemed to remember something and shifted the direction of the conversation.

"But what?" Di Ping asked eagerly, hoping she had recalled something important.

"Well, while I was unconscious, I seem to have learned a lot of things—like the language spoken here and some skills that I hadn't learned at the academy!"

Gina appeared thoughtful at first, as if trying to recall something, before her tone became more excited as she spoke.

Di Ping slapped his forehead in frustration, a dark line forming across his face. It seemed unlikely that he would be able to obtain much information from Gina. However, one thing was now certain: these people were indeed living humans, albeit from a different planet. He still didn't understand how the system had brought these individuals to Earth, only to recruit them as heroes. But it no longer mattered as long as these people could assist him.

In the ensuing conversation, Di Ping learned about the planet Sade. Like Earth, Sade had developed advanced technology—automobiles, trains, airplanes, and satellites were all in use, with technology far surpassing Earth's. The Sadeians had already begun the initial stages of developing nearby planets. However, Di Ping reasoned that Earth would eventually catch up in a few decades, and the difference between the two planets wasn't too vast. The only notable distinction was that Sade also had magic and martial arts, which had become indispensable aspects of their society.

Magic and martial arts academies on Sade were akin to Earth's schools, but with a greater focus on these subjects rather than on cultural studies. Cultural subjects were considered secondary, with magic and martial arts being the primary disciplines. The most powerful magicians and martial artists could even perform feats like flying or teleportation. As a result, technology was viewed merely as a tool, while the cultivation of human potential was the ultimate pursuit for everyone on the planet.

In Sade's society, magicians and martial artists held a prestigious status, regarded as superior to others. The highest levels of power were concentrated in the hands of these individuals, and everyone aspired to become a great magician or martial artist. Gina, it seemed, had developed her potential and had become a respected magician.

She had once been an orphan, but after her potential as a D-grade magician was recognized, she entered a prestigious academy to learn magic. Although a D-grade magician wasn't particularly powerful, it was still an impressive achievement, as the awakening of one's potential was incredibly difficult. For every ten thousand people, only one might manage to awaken their potential. As such, being recognized as a D-grade magician made Gina the envy of many.

During her first year at the academy, Gina had only learned basic magical knowledge, such as elementary meditation techniques, and had inherited the first skill—Fireball. Eager to test her skills, she ventured into the mountains to hunt mutant beasts, but her group of young and inexperienced classmates ventured too far into dangerous territory. They encountered a high-level mutant beast, leading to the death of some and the escape of others. Gina, however, was fortunate enough to find shelter in a cave and survived. She was the only one left, stranded in the mountains, with powerful mutant beasts lurking outside. Without outside help, her death seemed imminent.

In that moment, a voice told her that if she became a follower of a powerful individual, not only would she survive, but she would also gain access to more advanced knowledge and the opportunity to become a higher-level practitioner.

This offer filled her with joy. On Sade, being a follower of a powerful person was not a disgrace; it was an honor. Many profound techniques were not taught at the academy, as they were kept by influential families. Ordinary people had no chance of learning such techniques unless they became followers of these powerful families. Gina, eager to learn and grow, accepted the offer.

Once she agreed, she suddenly lost consciousness and later woke up in this new place, having gained new skills and knowledge. What she didn't know was that, during her unconscious state, the system had not only imbued her with additional knowledge but had also subtly instilled an unshakable loyalty to Di Ping. Although on Sade, once a person became a follower, they could never betray their master, as the contract bore a spiritual mark that prevented defection, the system's intervention made the consequences of disobedience far more severe—death awaited anyone who defied the contract.

Through their conversation, Di Ping learned that Gina was only nineteen, which was similar to many young women in their first year of university on Earth.

Hearing Gina's age made Di Ping roll his eyes in disbelief. He thought to himself, She's developed so early! Looking at Gina's well-formed chest, long and slender legs, and mature and alluring face, he found it hard to believe she was only nineteen. It seemed that women from Sade matured earlier than those from Earth, which was the only possible explanation.

After chatting for nearly two hours, Di Ping instructed Barton to arrange for Gina to stay on the third floor. Currently, the third floor housed only one resident, a newly arrived female magician named Gina, and a barbarian named Buji.

Di Ping decided that only professionals or high-ranking members of the base would stay on the third floor. Since the base was still small and lacked clear divisions of responsibility, he had Li Sheng and several other early followers of his stay on the second floor. Once the roles and responsibilities were clarified, the third floor would be opened up. This arrangement could be seen as a form of welfare for those who had been with him from the beginning.
