Unbeknownst to him, the murderous aura surrounding Di Ping was intense and palpable, a reflection of his past, where he had killed numerous mutated creatures. The sheer pressure of this energy swept through the area like a violent storm, causing both Yue Lie and Liu Han to involuntarily step back several paces.
The coldness of the killing intent made them feel as if they were caught in an icy wind, their bodies instinctively shuddering. As they looked at Di Ping, whose presence seemed to emanate death itself, their expressions turned to one of sheer terror, and their bodies shook uncontrollably.
"Are you two alright? I didn't manage to control myself earlier," Di Ping remarked, noticing the two retreating due to the oppressive atmosphere. Realizing he had failed to restrain his energy, he hurriedly released the pressure and addressed them apologetically.
"N-no... we're fine!" Yue Lie stammered, still shaken by the experience. His voice cracked as he spoke.
Although Di Ping had withdrawn his intimidating energy, the fear in their eyes did not dissipate. They couldn't fathom how a person could exude such a powerful aura, the killing intent piercing deep into their hearts, suffocating them to the point of near collapse. Was this the work of a martial arts master from some novel? In reality, was such a figure possible? This completely shattered their previous understanding. Now, they looked at Di Ping as if he were some kind of monster, with a lingering sense of dread.
"Master, there's a situation!" Gina suddenly appeared beside Di Ping, her voice soft yet urgent.
"Ah!" Yue Lie and Liu Han were startled by Gina's sudden appearance, nearly letting out a cry. However, realizing the awkwardness of the situation, they immediately held their tongues, looking like startled ducks with their necks stretched out.
Given the eerie environment of the post-apocalyptic world, the two had been on edge, so it was no surprise that Gina, cloaked in black with her face hidden, startled them. It wasn't just her appearance, but the very nature of the world that made such an unexpected entrance unnerving. It was a miracle they didn't scream in fear.
Gina lifted her face slightly, casting a glance at the two of them. Seeing their reaction, she smiled—her smile was so enchanting that it could melt hearts. Yue Lie and Liu Han, who had been stiffened by fear, now quickly withdrew their necks and stared at her, their eyes full of admiration.
Even Di Ping found it difficult to resist Gina's allure, so it was no wonder that these two young men were so affected. With just one smile, Gina seemed to have captivated their souls.
"What's going on?" Di Ping asked, glancing at the two, his eyes showing a hint of pity. He realized the two were mesmerized by Gina but had no time to deal with this distraction. Hearing that Gina had brought news of trouble, he turned his attention to her.
"There are a few mutated large dogs roaming the streets, heading this way," Gina explained, her expression growing serious as she spoke. Her previously mesmerizing smile faded, and her voice, soft and seductive, came from beneath her hood.
As Gina's face disappeared from view, both Yue Lie and Liu Han were filled with disappointment. However, their senses quickly returned, and they exchanged a fearful look, realizing that their earlier dazed state was not normal. When they looked at Gina again, their gazes were no longer as dreamy as before.
But when they heard about the mutated dogs, their faces turned pale with terror. They were still haunted by the memories of being chased by such creatures just days ago. The fear that had been suppressed rushed back, and they trembled uncontrollably.
"Let's go outside and see," Di Ping said calmly, unaffected by the news of the mutated dogs. His demeanor was calm, almost indifferent.
"Don't... don't go!" Yue Lie and Liu Han were momentarily stunned. They hadn't expected Di Ping to want to go out. As they watched him turn towards the exit, Gina followed him without a second glance, prompting them to urgently whisper, hoping to stop them.
But Di Ping and Gina didn't look back, walking swiftly toward the door. In an instant, the two had disappeared around the corner, their footsteps indicating they were heading directly for the exit.
"What should we do?" Yue Lie and Liu Han exchanged a glance, both of them asking the same question.
"Let's go! If we're going to die, let's die early and get it over with! We can't let women be braver than us," Liu Han suddenly growled, his voice full of determination. Seeing someone like Gina, a beautiful woman, face danger without hesitation made it impossible for him to back down. What's more, the idea of dying alongside such a woman seemed strangely appealing.
"Alright, I've had enough running. Let's do this!" Yue Lie said firmly, his words punctuated by a sense of finality.
"Let's go! Ha, today we're going all in! If we die, at least we'll die standing. If we don't, we'll be heroes!" Liu Han laughed heartily, as if the decision had already been made. He grabbed a kitchen knife from a nearby shelf and headed out, Yue Lie following suit, holding another knife as they both made their way toward the exit.
Though Di Ping led the way, he could hear every sound from inside the room. When he heard their conversation, he didn't turn around but smiled slightly. These two were interesting. Despite knowing their own limitations, they were willing to face danger head-on. This courage was admirable and worth fostering.
