Chapter 13 - Sunset Point

Veer stood on the cliff, contemplating how to defeat the Sacred Blood Alien, when he suddenly saw the creature approaching him. He was still devising a plan when, unexpectedly, Grandmaster made his move, launching an arrow that gravely wounded the Sacred Blood Alien.

Seeing someone else attack his prey infuriated Veer, but he quickly realized that this wasn't the time for anger—it was a time for strategy. Since Grandmaster had already weakened the alien, why not take full advantage of the situation?

With that thought, Veer attacked with his crescent-shaped spear, striking the alien right in its wounded chest. Already gravely injured, the Sacred Blood Alien succumbed instantly.

As soon as the alien died, Veer's power screen displayed a message:

"Sacred Blood Alien defeated.

You have obtained the Sacred Blood Alien's Devil's Soul.

Absorb its energy to gain 0-10 Sacred Gene Points."

Veer's excitement knew no bounds. He had obtained another Devil's Soul! Was this incredible luck, or was he simply dreaming?

Lost in his thoughts, Veer's face displayed a radiant smile, much like those in an Orbit White chewing gum advertisement.

However, this wasn't the time to celebrate.

Grandmaster and his team weren't far behind, and if they caught him, he wouldn't stand a chance. Veer knew he had to escape immediately. Taking the massive corpse of the Sacred Blood Alien was impossible, but he could at least take its golden battle-axe.

Before Grandmaster and the others could recover from the shock of seeing their enemy fall by someone else's hand, Veer had already grabbed the golden axe and fled the scene.

Now, standing near the mountains, Veer examined the golden axe in his hands as if he had discovered a legendary treasure. And in a way, he had.

In Dev-Ashram, such items were considered priceless treasures. They were called "gears." Unlike Devil's Souls, they couldn't be summoned at will, but their power and significance were just as great.

This golden axe, once wielded by the Sacred Blood Alien, had the ability to destroy Devil's Soul-based weapons and mounts effortlessly. Veer had witnessed its destructive power firsthand. This Sacred Blood Gear was invaluable to him.

Veer had only intended to steal the golden axe, but who would have thought that he'd also end up obtaining the Sacred Blood Alien's Devil's Soul as a bonus? It was like a miracle!

Just days ago, he had struggled to gain even the most basic gene points, and now, one after another, he was achieving incredible feats.

But would Grandmaster let him escape so easily after having his treasure stolen? What if Veer's happiness was short-lived, and his secret identity as Dollar was exposed?

"Who dares to steal my treasure?!" Grandmaster's furious voice echoed as he snapped out of his shock.

While Veer was celebrating his victory, Grandmaster was boiling with rage.

In all of Dev-Ashram, only two people had ever dared to challenge Grandmaster—Avni Shergill and Bheem. But now, a third person had appeared out of nowhere, and worse, Grandmaster had no idea who he was!

As he scanned the people around him, he noticed everyone staring at Jai in shock. That's when Grandmaster realized that Jai had called this mysterious man "Dollar."

Did this mean Jai knew the identity of the thief?

But there was no time for questions—Grandmaster had to act fast.

He knew that Dollar wouldn't have made it far while carrying the massive golden axe. If he moved quickly, he could still catch him. Without wasting a moment, Grandmaster summoned his Black Buffalo Devil's Soul mount and took off in pursuit.

Seeing their leader charge ahead, the rest of Grandmaster's gang cursed Dollar and mounted their rides, racing after him.

Meanwhile, Veer, sensing their approach, immediately became alert. He needed to escape fast, or else Grandmaster wouldn't just take back the treasure—he would kill him.

But there was one major problem.

The golden axe was too heavy. It wasn't just slowing him down—it was making movement almost impossible. At this rate, Grandmaster's men would catch him within minutes.

Veer was frustrated. "That Sacred Blood Alien carried this axe so easily—so why is it so hard for me? There's no way I can run while carrying this."

Looking back, Veer could now clearly see Grandmaster and his men, barely half a mile away.

If only he weren't carrying this axe, he could have still escaped. But leaving behind such a precious treasure wasn't an option either.

He had come too far to abandon it now.

What should I do?

If only I were a Sacred Blood Alien…

Suddenly, Veer's eyes widened in realization.

He had completely forgotten about something crucial—the Sacred Blood Alien's Devil's Soul!

If that alien was so powerful, wouldn't its Devil's Soul be powerful too?

Wasting no time, Veer summoned the Sacred Blood Alien's Devil's Soul.

As soon as he did, a massive shadowy figure—identical to the Sacred Blood Alien—appeared in front of him.

If this creature held the golden axe, there would be no difference between it and the original Sacred Blood Alien.

In the next moment, the Devil's Soul surged toward Veer and merged with his body.

As the Devil's Soul entered him, Veer's entire form transformed—he now looked exactly like the Sacred Blood Alien!

Even his golden armor shifted to match the alien's body, covering him from head to toe.

Now, Veer wasn't just strong—he was twice as powerful as before.

And in this new form, the golden axe felt weightless.

Now, if he wanted, he could probably lift an entire mountain.

Though, of course, he had no intention of doing that.

Gripping the golden axe firmly in his hands, Veer took off running.

On four powerful legs, he moved so fast that even Grandmaster and his men had no chance of catching up.

In the blink of an eye, Veer vanished from sight, leaving Grandmaster and his team stunned and helpless.

Everything had happened so fast that no one understood what had just occurred.

By the time they did, Veer was already far, far away—completely out of their reach.
