Chapter 4

"Lavender, when did you arrive? We were just talking and you..."

"I didn't hear anything. I just got here. I heard you were on the terrace, so I came over."

Garrison visibly relaxed, while Vivienne, standing beside him, said to me,

"Lavender, long time no see."

Sitting in my wheelchair, I suppressed my hurt feelings and smiled as I spoke:

"It's been a while. I was bored at home alone, so I came out for some excitement. Now that everything's fine, I won't disturb you two."

With that, I turned to leave.

Garrison hurriedly caught up with me, draping his suit jacket over my shoulders,

He crouched down and said to me:

"Don't get the wrong idea. Vivienne is the team commander after all. I specifically invited her over because of the upcoming battle. We were just discussing battle plans."

Garrison's affectionate demeanor caused the cameras around us to go into a frenzy.

But I knew,

He was doing all this just to keep Vivienne's reputation from being tarnished.

"Don't worry, I'm not that petty. You two carry on with your discussion. I'll wait for you at home like a good girl."

After getting home, I threw all the clothes I had knitted by hand for our sweetheart into the trash can.

This child was destined to never be born. As Garrison was bringing Vivienne home, they happened to witness this scene.

A flicker of shock flashed in his eyes.

"Why are you getting rid of these perfectly good things?"

I replied with a blank expression, "It's still too early for the baby to be born. These are already outdated."

Garrison didn't doubt me at all, but a hint of smugness crossed Vivienne's face.

"Lavender, I have a relative who's about to give birth soon. Could you give these to me?"

I hesitated, "No, I made these for my sweetheart. If you want to give a gift, go buy something yourself."

As I turned to leave, Vivienne suddenly grabbed my arm.

Her long nails left a scratch on my skin.

"Lavender, you'd rather throw these away than give them to me. Is it because you hate me?"

I winced in pain and forcefully shook off Vivienne's hand.

She then dramatically fell backward.

"Garrison, save me!"

The man immediately rushed forward to catch her, then stood up and slapped me, knocking me out of my wheelchair onto the ground.

"Lavender, when did you become so vicious! Vivienne just thought it would be wasteful to throw it away. If you don't want it, that's fine. Did you really have to get physical with her?"

A buzzing sound echoed in my ears.

But that venomous sentence was exceptionally clear.

I suddenly laughed, "Garrison, even at my most vicious, I'm not a tenth as cruel as you!"

Garrison frowned, a flicker of panic flashing in his eyes.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Don't try to change the subject. Apologize to Vivienne!"

Before I could speak, Vivienne, with tears in her eyes, said from the side,

"It's okay, Lavender didn't mean it."

"I'm a bit hungry. Could you make me something to eat?"

Garrison's previously unyielding attitude immediately softened. He took the woman's hand and turned to leave.

And my entire world

Seemed to shatter in that instant.

I clumsily climbed into my wheelchair,

Just waiting for tomorrow to come.

Garrison,

Believe me, you'll love the grand gift I have for you.

Early the next morning, the big showdown was imminent.

Garrison had left early.

And Vivienne found me in the bedroom. As soon as the door opened, she pulled down the collar of her silk nightgown,

Instantly, a sea of hickeys appeared before my eyes,
