Chapter 4

Damien's eyes flashed a hint of panic.

"Didn't the doctor say it was just bad luck?"

"You can't blame us innocent people just because you lost the baby, can you?"

Hearing the commotion, Langdon's parents rushed over.

"Why even bother with a woman who's breaking up the perpetuation of our Langdon family line?"

"We shouldn't have stopped you from being with Felicity in the first place. Who knew her body would be even weaker than Felicity's."

"Quick, take Felicity to her room to change clothes. We can't let her catch a cold."

Watching their retreating figures, I gritted my teeth in hatred.

I walked out of the Langdon family mansion and hailed a cab to leave.

A few moments later, Damien sent me a text.

"Don't take what happened today to heart. Those things I said were just for show. Felicity has a bit of a cold, so she needs to stay here to recover. I'll be staying here for a few days too, to keep my parents company."

"My parents aren't really angry with you. They just want a grandchild. In a few days, you can come over with some gifts to smooth things over with them."

They want a grandchild, do they?

Well, I'll make sure this gift hits them right where it hurts.

For the next three days, Damien didn't come home. I threw away everything in the house that was related to me.

Before boarding the plane.

I made a phone call to Damien.

When the call connected, it was Felicity who answered, deliberately lowering her voice.

"Vivienne, Damien is helping me cook some porridge right now, he doesn't have time to take your call."

"It seems you already knew the truth that day, but you probably don't know that I've actually been well for a long time."

"There was never any special remedy for the heart, it was just a joke I made up, and I didn't expect he would believe it."

Before I could react, the phone was handed over to Damien.

"Darling, I was just busy, did you call for something?"

The taste of blood spread in my mouth.

"Damien, I've prepared the gifts for your parents, I'll send them over in a bit."

"Darling, it's so nice to have you."

After hanging up, I removed my SIM card and threw it away.

I turned and boarded the plane.

Damien continued to watch over the nutritious porridge Felicity wanted to drink.

He didn't forget to remind the maid to make sure the gifts I sent were delivered to the hands of the Langdon family parents. A few moments later, the Langdon family parents let out terrified screams.

"What on earth is this? Damien, get over here and look at what Vivienne sent!"

When Damien rushed to the living room,

The floor was covered in water stains, with three unrecognizable pieces of rotten meat scattered across broken glass.

A foul odor permeated the air.

The confusion in Damien's eyes slowly turned to horror, his face instantly turning pale.

He turned his head to look at the trembling maid nearby.

"This is what Vivienne sent?"

"Where is she?"

"Ma'am didn't... didn't come, it was a delivery person who left it at the door."

Hearing the maid's response, Damien completely lost his composure.

He took out his phone and repeatedly dialed my number, only to hear the system prompt that it was powered off.

Felicity stepped forward and tugged on Damien's sleeve.

She gently consoled him, "Brother Damien, don't be angry with Sister Vivienne."

"She must be upset about you criticizing her the other day, so she deliberately sent this to disgust Uncle and Auntie."

"It's okay, I'll have someone clean up this trash right away."

She looked towards the maid standing nearby. "Don't you dare touch that! It stinks to high heaven!"

"Leave it alone!"

Damien violently shoved Felicity's hand away.

Felicity fell to the ground, her eyes instantly welling up with hurt tears.
