Season 2 -Resurgence

The Next Day at School The air was heavy with tension.

In the hallway, Hae Jin, Lee So Mi, Yoon Ha Rin, Dae Hyun, Jae Hoon, Jin Ho, and Ryo Tadeka stood together, their expressions grim.

Jae Hoon clenched his fists, barely containing his anger.

Lee So Mi, usually calm, looked just as heated.

Hae Jin, who rarely let his emotions show, had a dark expression, his jaw tight.

Jin Ho exhaled sharply. "This has gone too far."

Ryo Tadeka, who had been silent for a while, finally spoke up.

"Let's destroy this game."

Dae Hyun nodded. "I'm in."

Yoon Ha Rin added, "We should've done this earlier."

Ryo turned to Yoon Ha Rin. "You and I need to meet with Shin Kyung. Just the two of us."

Yoon Ha Rin hesitated for a moment before nodding. She knew that getting Shin Kyung's help was crucial.

Meanwhile In his quiet apartment, Jin Seok sat on the sofa, wearing his school uniform.

In his hands was an old photograph—one from their childhood.

He and Seung Min, standing together in their elementary and middle school uniforms, smiling.

The memories came rushing back.

How had everything gone so wrong?

Jin Seok's grip on the photo tightened. His expression was unreadable.

At the Hospital Joo Hyuk held his phone to his ear, speaking in a low, firm tone.

"Grandfather, you need to come."

On the other end of the call, silence. Then, a deep sigh.

"…I understand."

Joo Hyuk hung up and turned to look at the hospital room where Seung Min lay unconscious.

Inside, Seung Min's aunt sat by his bedside, keeping a watchful eye on him.

On the School Rooftop Ryo Tadeka and Yoon Ha Rin stood before Shin Kyung.

Shin Kyung looked at them, unimpressed. "What do you want?"

Without hesitation, Ryo swung his fist.

SMACK!

Shin Kyung's head snapped to the side as Ryo's punch connected with his cheek.

For a moment, there was only silence.

Then, Ryo spoke, voice cold.

"Wake up. Stop this. Help us stop Lee Joo Hyun before it's too late."

Shin Kyung clenched his jaw, his face unreadable.

Meanwhile, at the Hideout Min Joon sat alone, his mind a storm of emotions.

Then—the door burst open.

Joo Hyuk entered with a team of detectives, their eyes locked onto Min Joon.

One officer stepped forward.

"You are under investigation for attempted murder and conspiracy."

Min Joon didn't even flinch. He knew this moment was coming.

From behind him, Joo Hyuk watched Min Joon's back silently.

At the Prison Behind cold iron bars, Lee Joo Hyun sat across from Min Joon.

Min Joon's voice was bitter.

"Just be proud of your real son. I was always the one being cast aside."

His hands clenched into fists.

"If Mom were still here… would I have ended up like this?"

He looked up, his eyes burning.

"This is all because of you."

Lee Joo Hyun remained silent. His expression was unreadable.

At the Hospital Jin Seok finally arrived, stepping into the hospital room.

Inside, only Seung Min's aunt was there.

She looked up as Jin Seok entered.

"I'm his friend," he said quietly.

The aunt hesitated, then nodded and stepped outside to give them privacy.

Jin Seok moved closer to the hospital bed.

Seung Min lay motionless, his breathing steady but weak.

Jin Seok swallowed hard.

"…You idiot," he whispered, his voice trembling.

He clenched his fists, guilt and regret washing over him.

"Why did it have to come to this?"

Back at School In front of a full classroom, Nina Park stood with a serious expression.

"This game… will be deleted."

Hae Jin, Lee So Mi, Jae Hoon, Dae Hyun, and Jin Ho nodded in agreement.

Nina Park assigned them their task.

"Go to every class. Destroy every QR code linked to the Death Card game."

Without hesitation, they spread out through the school, tearing down every trace of the deadly game.

At the Police Station Lee Joo Hyun was released from custody.

Seated in the back of a black car, he gazed out the window.

His face was unreadable, but his eyes held something dangerous.

Back on the School Rooftop Shin Kyung, Yoon Ha Rin, and Ryo Tadeka stood in silence.

Finally, Shin Kyung exhaled.

"…Fine."

He looked at them, his usual arrogance gone.

"I'll help you."

Yoon Ha Rin smiled faintly. "Good."

The real fight was just beginning.

At the Hospital Jin Seok stepped out of Seung Min's room, his face emotionless.

He walked past the hallway, past the waiting area…

And left.

For now, there was nothing he could do.

But something inside him had changed.

Jin Seok Returns to School Jin Seok walked through the school corridors, his eyes scanning each classroom he passed.

Several students noticed him.

"Hey, isn't that Jin Seok?"

"Why is he here?"

But Jin Seok ignored them.

His steps remained firm.

His expression unreadable.

Finally, he arrived at the teacher's office and met Nina Park.

Nina Park sat with her arms crossed, staring at him intently.

"Jin Seok, are you here to talk about that game?"

Before Jin Seok could answer—

His phone rang.

He glanced at the screen briefly before answering.

"Where are you, Dad?"

The voice on the other end was calm.

"Come to the office. We need to discuss something."

Jin Seok paused for a moment.

Then, without another word, he hung up and turned to leave.

At the Office When Jin Seok arrived, the atmosphere in the office felt cold and tense.

Then, his eyes landed on an elderly man in a sharp suit.

It was Seung Min's grandfather.

Beside him, Lee Joo Hyun sat calmly.

Jin Seok's expression remained unreadable.

Without hesitation, he spoke, "The game was just an experiment."

Then, with quiet confidence, he glanced at his father.

Lee Joo Hyun simply sat there, relaxed.

Then—he gave a faint smile.

As if… everything was still going according to his plan.

Evening – On Their Way Home

The school day ended, and everyone finally felt relieved—

The game was destroyed.

Dae Hyun, Jin Ho, and Lee So Mi headed home, exhausted but satisfied.

Meanwhile, Ryo, Jae Hoon, and Yoon Ha Rin walked together, following their planned strategy with Shin Kyung.

Hae Jin, however, walked alone.

He had only one destination in mind—the hospital.

On the Motorcycle – Hae Jin's Thoughts

As he rode through the city streets, the wind hitting his face, his mind was drowning in a single thought:

"If Seung Min wakes up… then I must leave this body."

"Once everything is finished, I will accept my fate and disappear."

It was the final decision he had made.

And nothing would change it.

At the Hospital

Hae Jin entered Seung Min's room.

The steady beeping of the machines filled the silence.

He sat beside the bed, staring at the unconscious Seung Min.

Then, he whispered—

"Please wake up, Seung Min."

"I… will be leaving."

"Look at me one last time before I disappear."

"Everything is over, Seung Min… so wake up."

He exhaled, stood up, and quietly walked out of the room.

His steps were slow but firm.

Soon after, he found himself on the rooftop of the school, sitting on the edge of the fence, gazing at the city below.

Meanwhile – Inside Seung Min's Room

Dae Hyun, Jin Ho, and Lee So Mi had been waiting beside Seung Min.

Then, suddenly—

The beeping of the monitor changed.

The once-unstable breathing became more regular.

The machine's alert beeped.

Dae Hyun's eyes widened.

"Doctor! We need a doctor!"

Jin Ho and Lee So Mi smiled in relief, their hands gripping Seung Min's, trying to wake him up.

He was waking up.

Night – At Jin Seok's House

Dinner was quiet.

Jin Seok sat at the table, facing his father, Lee Joo Hyun.

Usually, there was another person here—Min Joon.

But the seat across from him was empty now.

Jin Seok stole a glance at the chair… then continued eating.

Then, his father broke the silence.

"Tomorrow, Min Joon will be released."

Jin Seok stopped chewing.

His voice was calm as he responded, "Don't do that."

Lee Joo Hyun smirked slightly.

"If he's arrested, then you will also be dragged into the murder case."

Jin Seok remained calm.

"Just keep it simple during the interrogation. If they ask, just say you used me as a pawn for your political experiment."

His father leaned back, unimpressed.

"We still have a chance to keep our position, but that old man will fall into his own trap trying to bring me down."

Jin Seok sighed.

"Enough, Father."

He put down his utensils and stood up from the table.

Just as he was about to leave, his father added—

"Your brother, Min Joon, will be sent to Seoul."

"He will attend a private school under my ownership."

"That way, you won't be disturbed anymore. My headquarters are in Seoul, after all."

Jin Seok didn't react.

He simply left the room.

Back at the Hospital Jin Ho quickly texted their group chat.

"Seung Min is awake."

At the Rooftop – Ryo, Jae Hoon, and Yoon Ha Rin

Shin Kyung stood across from them.

His eyes darted to his younger sister, Yoon Ha Rin, before shifting to Jae Hoon and Ryo Tadeka.

Then, with a serious tone, he finally spoke—

"Unfortunately, this game was never just a simple school experiment."

"It was controlled by politicians—through Lee Joo Hyun."

Jae Hoon's fists clenched.

Shin Kyung continued, "Even Jin Seok has no power over it."

Yoon Ha Rin frowned.

"Then what does this mean?"

Shin Kyung exhaled heavily.

"This game was a political experiment, funded by high-ranking elites in the country."

"Several schools have already been used as testing grounds."

"And honestly…" he looked away, his voice slightly hesitant, "even I don't know where this is truly heading."

The truth had finally been revealed—

But the real danger… had just begun.

Ryo clenched his fists.

"That means we're in danger for interfering with this game."

Jae Hoon, who had been holding back his emotions, suddenly kicked a nearby soda can.

"Shiball!" (Damn it!)

The tension in the air was heavy.

Suddenly, a notification sound rang out.

From Jin Ho:

"Seung Min is awake!"

They exchanged glances.

No words were needed—

They immediately rushed to the hospital.

At the Hospital One by one, they entered the room where Seung Min was being treated.

Dae Hyun, Jin Ho, Lee So Mi, Ryo, Jae Hoon, and Yoon Ha Rin—

Everyone was there.

Except for one person.

Hae Jin.

On the Dark Streets While the others gathered at the hospital, Hae Jin rode his motorcycle alone.

The night felt colder than usual.

And for the first time… he felt uneasy.

Not for himself.

But for something much bigger.

As he turned onto an empty street, suddenly

Someone stood in the middle of the road.

Blocking his path.

Hae Jin hit the brakes hard, his tires screeching against the asphalt.

He stared at the figure sharply.

The person wore a long black coat, their face partially hidden in shadows.

But one thing was certain—

They weren't here by coincidence.

Tonight, the real danger had just begun.

The man in the black coat stepped forward, his sharp gaze locked onto Hae Jin.

"Are you... Kieran?"

Hae Jin sighed.

"Well, what else can I say?" he muttered. "Since I've transmigrated into this body, I might as well resolve this kid's problems."

The man studied him for a moment before speaking again.

"Your father wants to see you. He told me to bring you to his office."

Hae Jin narrowed his eyes slightly.

"My father, huh...?"

Without hesitation, he got on his motorcycle and followed the man's car.

The engine roared as he sped through the dimly lit streets, his mind racing with thoughts.

Arriving at the Office Hae Jin parked his sport motorcycle in front of the towering building. The air was heavy as he stepped inside.

The elevator doors opened, revealing a spacious, dimly lit office.

The temperature felt colder as he stepped in.

His gaze froze when he saw a man standing near the desk.

A man he knew all too well.

The restaurant owner.

His former boss.

The person he once worked for in his part-time job… before he ended up in this body.

They were close.

But now, they stood on opposite sides.

"You…" Hae Jin muttered, his voice unreadable.

The man smirked.

"It's been a while, Kieran… or should I call you Hae Jin now?"

The Shocking Truth Hae Jin stared at the man, his expression unreadable.

"How do you know I'm not Kieran?"

The man smirked and nodded toward something behind Hae Jin.

"Because there's someone you need to see."

A chill ran down Hae Jin's spine. Slowly, he turned around…

And there he was.

Kieran.

But not in physical form.

A transparent figure of Kieran sat in a chair, his expression complicated—empty, yet full of meaning.

"So… I'm really dead," Kieran murmured, his voice echoing faintly.

Hae Jin froze. His eyes widened, and his heart pounded hard.

"You… you're the real Kieran?"

Kieran nodded slightly. "And you… took my body."

A heavy silence filled the room.

Hae Jin felt the air grow thicker, suffocating.

Kieran's father observed him carefully.

"So you really transmigrated into my son's body, huh?"

Hae Jin clenched his fists.

"I… never wanted this," he said in a low voice. "I don't even know how it happened."

Kieran chuckled bitterly, but his eyes remained vacant.

"I don't know why my soul is still here either," he said. "But if I'm still here… does that mean my body can be returned to me?"

Hae Jin's breath hitched. That question hit him hard.

If this body was never his to begin with… did that mean he had to disappear?

An Inevitable Choice Kieran stared at Hae Jin with eyes full of urgency.

"I have to return to my body, Hae Jin," he said firmly.

Hae Jin clenched his fists tightly. His eyes locked onto Kieran's without blinking.

"I know," he replied softly.

He had expected this.

This body wasn't his. It belonged to Kieran.

"Then, how do we do it?" Hae Jin asked, his voice heavier than before.

The man in front of them—Kieran's father—gazed at them with an unreadable expression.

"There is a way… But it means you'll have to disappear."

Silence.

Hae Jin swallowed hard.

He had already prepared himself for this possibility.

"I was never meant to be here," he whispered. "If this can set everything right…"

He paused for a moment, then let out a long breath.

"I'll do it."
