TWENTY-FIVE

Marcus' Point of View

"Why Marcus? Why did you do that?" Anya said disgust was written all over her face. I whimpered. I tried to approach her, but she's already gone.

I got up and tried catching my breath. I looked at the room where I was, and all my memories came back: the deal, the act, and Anya.

"Fuck! Fuck you, Damien," I cursed. The door opened, and Lorraine entered, carrying a tray of food.

"You're awake, Alpha," she said softly. I looked at her, but I immediately averted my gaze. I'm ashamed of myself. Because of my stupidity, I lost Anya.

"How many hours have I been unconscious?" I asked her while looking outside. I feel empty inside. I looked like what they call a zombie, alive but seemingly lifeless.
