MATTEO’s POV
I sprinted through the darkness, my footsteps echoing off the pavement as I raced towards Rosaline's house. The night air was crisp and cool, but my heart burned with a fierce intensity. My hand instinctively went to my belt, feeling the reassuring shape of my holstered gun beneath my suit jacket. I burst through the front door, my eyes scanning the room with a laser-like focus.
And then, I spotted her - Aria, seated and frozen in fear, her eyes wide with terror as she took in my imposing figure. She tried to rise to make a desperate dash for freedom, but I was too quick. I closed the distance between us in mere strides, my long legs devouring the space. I grasped her wrist, my grip so strong I knew it hurt her.
"Don't fight it, Aria," I snarled, my voice low and menacing. "You're coming with me."
