On two previously empty rows of land, wheat stalks now stood tall, reaching up to a meter in height. Their stems were upright, resembling rice plants but slimmer and more distinct as their leaves had already fallen. The golden grains at the top glistened under the room's light, reflecting a soft shimmer from their surface.
"Wheat?" Adam murmured, his eyes lighting up with sudden curiosity.
He wasn't a farmer, but having grown up in a village, he knew what rice looked like. This wheat bore a resemblance—only taller and sturdier.
Stepping closer, Adam instinctively raised his hand slightly, as if to confirm that what he was seeing was real. "It's already ripe? This fast?" he asked, still struggling to believe his own eyes.
In just five minutes, the seeds that had just been planted had transformed into fully grown, harvest-ready crops.
"Yes, Boss! Everything matured perfectly. Now it's time for the harvest," Serina responded enthusiastically. Her face beamed with excitement, a wide smile stretching across her lips. It was her first day on the job, and she had already succeeded in growing the crops flawlessly.
Without wasting another second, she rushed to the tool rack in the corner of the room. Her hands swiftly grabbed a sickle before she returned to the wheat field, ready to begin the harvest.
Swish…
Swish…
The sickle in her hand moved with precision, slicing cleanly through the base of the mature wheat stalks. Each time her hands were full, she neatly stacked the harvested crops beside the field, forming tidy bundles.
Adam observed from a distance, arms crossed over his chest. Serina's movements were swift and fluid, like someone who had been doing this for years. As she crouched and moved along the field, her posture remained perfectly balanced—neither rushing nor wasting time.
It didn't take long.
Two large piles of harvested wheat now stood beside the field, marking the success of their first harvest. The sight was… oddly satisfying. Even a seasoned farmer would likely take a deep breath of contentment at such a result.
Adam smirked slightly. "Impressive… our first harvest," he muttered, a hint of excitement creeping into his voice. His mind quickly shifted to the next step.
Serina, wiping sweat from her forehead, turned to him. "What's next, Boss? Do we have any burlap sacks?" she asked.
Adam blinked. He hadn't thought that far yet.
Before he could answer, a system panel suddenly appeared before him.
[Congratulations! The Host has completed a hidden mission: First Harvest. You have obtained (Warehouse Storage). Please check your inventory.]
Adam's eyes widened.
A hidden mission? And the reward was a warehouse?
His mind worked quickly. This couldn't have come at a better time. With a grin of growing enthusiasm, he scanned the room, searching for any sign of the newly acquired warehouse.
Then, his gaze landed on something new.
On a previously empty section of the wall, a door now stood. No sound, no grand display—it had simply appeared, as if it had always been there.
"Hold on a second."
Adam signaled to Serina before stepping toward the mysterious door.
Serina, who had been watching closely, was just as surprised. As far as she remembered, there had never been a door there. She frowned slightly but remained silent.
Meanwhile, Adam stood before the door, gripping the handle. He pressed it down slightly and slid it open.
"A sliding door?" he muttered under his breath.
As it opened, a familiar sight greeted him—a black curtain, just like the entrance to the farming room. Without hesitation, he stepped inside.
Beyond the doorway, a new space unfolded before him. The walls were the same sleek silver as the farming area, illuminated by bright white light. However, there was a distinct difference here.
Three rows of wooden shelves stood neatly in the center, giving the room the appearance of a proper storage facility. On the far side, a large cabinet housed stacks of burlap sacks.
"As expected, those shelves must be for storing harvested crops," Adam mused, immediately understanding the room's function.
He walked over to the cabinet, opened its doors, and pulled out one of the sacks. Without wasting any time, he returned to the farming area.
When he stepped out, Serina was still in the same spot, watching with curiosity. But the moment she saw Adam carrying a burlap sack, her eyes sparkled.
"Where did you get that, Boss?" she asked eagerly.
She was beginning to realize that Adam always seemed to have a trick up his sleeve, constantly pulling surprises out of nowhere.
"That door leads to the warehouse," Adam explained, setting the sack beside the harvested wheat. "Inside, there are storage racks and a supply of sacks for packing."
Serina listened attentively, but her focus quickly shifted as Adam crouched down and began filling the sack with wheat.
"Come help me."
Serina quickly sprang into action. She crouched beside Adam and started packing the wheat into the sack alongside him.
Rustle… rustle…
The sound of wheat stalks rubbing against each other filled the air as they carefully placed them inside. Though they worked quickly, they remained cautious to ensure the golden grains didn't scatter.
It didn't take long. Soon, the two massive piles of wheat had filled about a quarter of the large sack.
"Done." Adam let out a deep breath, satisfied with their progress so far.
He glanced at Serina, who still looked full of energy. She was clearly enjoying her work.
Adam crossed his arms. "Alright… looks like you can handle the rest on your own now. You can keep going."
Serina looked up, her eyes shining with enthusiasm.
"Once a sack is full, take it to the warehouse and stack it on the empty racks," Adam continued, making sure she understood the task. "After that, continue planting as usual."
"Understood, Boss! I'll take care of it!" Serina replied firmly, her excitement evident in her voice.
