Completely destroyed

Adam nodded in satisfaction. His first employee was truly reliable. Not only was she quick and efficient in her work, but she also had an enthusiastic personality. On top of that, her appearance was so captivating—like bringing the light of spring every time he looked at her.

He took a deep breath. His mind suddenly drifted to the events of a few days ago—his encounter with Serina and her family.

"I don't know what would have happened if a woman this beautiful was left alone in a city on the brink of apocalypse..." he muttered under his breath. But as soon as the words left his lips, his mind screamed, "Damn... isn't that exactly what happened?"

He recalled Serina's condition when they first met—helpless, cornered by threats, and unable to do anything but hope for someone to save her.

Adam shook his head slightly, pushing the thought away.

"Alright, I'll leave you to it for now," he said, his tone returning to a firm one. "I'll be back later this afternoon to check on your progress."

Serina nodded confidently and immediately refocused on her task.

With that, Adam turned and left the farm room. There was another priority he needed to focus on—his main mission at the moment: learning martial arts.

Inside the vast and silent factory room, Adam stood tall. His breathing was steady, his mind focused.

He raised his fists, positioning his body, and then—

Sesh!

His right fist shot forward, piercing through the air at high speed. No loud explosions, no dramatic effects. But Adam could feel the force in his punch—swift, compact, and precise.

Without hesitation, he swung his left fist.

Sesh!

He continued repeating the motion, alternating between his right and left hands, letting his body feel the rhythm of his strikes. Sweat started to form on his forehead, but he didn't stop. Every movement was practice, every punch was preparation.

After a while, he changed his approach. Now, his body moved more fluidly—dodging, blocking, and attacking in a more complex pattern.

The only sounds in the room were his controlled breaths and the soft tap of his feet against the concrete floor. In this empty space, Adam was fully immersed in his training.

Meanwhile, far from the factory where Adam was training, a great catastrophe was unfolding.

Beneath the cloudy sky, a military helicopter hovered steadily over Java Island. From inside, General Kojan observed the land below with a tense expression.

His eyes swept across the coastline, now utterly devastated. The seaside buildings had lost their shapes, reduced to ruins scattered everywhere, and worse—monsters roamed freely.

These vicious creatures dominated the coastal areas. Some of them were massive, taking heavy steps as they led swarms of smaller monsters. They moved like a tidal wave—slow but steadily pushing deeper inland.

However, one defensive point still stood.

One kilometer from the shore, a newly built giant wall stood firm, holding back the monster invasion. Although it didn't yet cover the entire coastline, it was enough to stall the attack for the time being.

General Kojan took a deep breath, gripping the chair in front of him tightly. Regret flickered in his eyes, mixed with a trace of anger.

Beside him, a young woman in a military uniform sat upright. A tablet rested in her hands, ready to provide the necessary reports.

"Yani," Kojan called out, his voice heavy. "What's the President's response?"

Without hesitation, Yani quickly opened the document on her tablet. She ensured the information was correct before reporting in a firm tone, "The President has given General Kojan full authority to defend West Jakarta."

Kojan closed his eyes for a moment. He had predicted this decision from the start, but hearing it confirmed still made him pause.

Yani continued, her voice even firmer, "Furthermore, from this moment forward, you are officially appointed as the leader of West Jakarta. You are responsible for ensuring that monsters do not break through into Central Jakarta."

General Kojan took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.

"Huh... even though it's a bit late, at least they finally understand the importance of acting swiftly and decisively in a crisis like this," he muttered.

He turned his gaze back outside the window, looking at the defense wall they had struggled to build. Time was ticking, and this battle was far from over.

"What about the other regions?" Kojan asked, his tone neutral but carrying an underlying tension.

Indonesia was vast. As an archipelago, nearly every region was directly connected to the sea. And now, the ocean was no longer just a stretch of water linking the land—it had become the greatest source of terror for humanity. High-level and colossal monsters continued to emerge from its depths, threatening every corner of the nation.

Yani focused on her tablet, reading the latest data from various regions. She quickly reported, "Nearly 50% of the country has been completely destroyed, 30% is in critical condition, and only 20% is currently in the process of establishing defensive fortifications."

Kojan narrowed his eyes. "20%..." he muttered, rolling the number around in his mind.

Java, Sumatra, and Kalimantan were among that 20%. Not without reason—these three islands had vast territories, giving local governments enough room to organize defenses in major cities. But surviving didn't mean they were safe.

General Kojan let out a long breath, pushing down the turmoil in his chest. "This really is the apocalypse..." he said heavily.

Throughout his life, he had always believed in the power of the military, strategy, and discipline. But now, all of that felt insignificant in the face of this chaos. Never in his entire career had he undertaken a mission with such an overwhelming number of casualties. And now, as a high-ranking officer, he had to face the harsh reality that the greatest burden rested on his shoulders.

He clenched his jaw, suppressing his emotions to stay focused. Now was not the time to lament their losses.

"Let's head back," he ordered firmly. His eyes burned with determination. "We need to reinforce the western defenses immediately. And also..." he paused for a moment, his expression hardening. "We need to force those bastards out of their hiding places."

The helicopter turned around, leaving behind the ravaged coastline as it flew back toward the military base in West Jakarta.
