600 Years Ago??

Morning light filled the room, warm and soft. Rei was the first to wake. He blinked, adjusting to the glow, then turned his head.

Lunara was still asleep. Her long hair spread across the pillow, her breathing slow and peaceful. Rei lay on his side, watching her.

"Even after 600 years, she looked the same. Not a single thing had changed." he whispered

A small smile formed on his lips. He reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. Leaning closer, he whispered,

"Your beauty from 600 years ago… it's still the same."

Lunara didn't hear him. She remained deep in sleep. Rei watched her for a long time, feeling warmth.

Then, the clock struck noon. She still hadn't woken up.

Rei sighed and gently shook her shoulder. "Wake up, it's late."

Lunara groaned, pulling the blanket over her head. "No… it's still morning," she mumbled.

Rei chuckled. She hadn't changed at all. Standing up, he said, "Alright, I'm going to work. Bye-bye."

Still half-asleep, Lunara only nodded. Rei smiled, shook his head, and left.

At his office, Rei moved through his usual tasks. But as he walked past a display case, he suddenly stopped.

Inside was an old hairclip.

It was golden, shaped like a phoenix, with red and orange gemstones that glowed under the light. Rei's heart pounded. Slowly, he reached out, his fingers pressing against the hairclip.

This was it.

The hairclip from 600 years ago.

Memories rushed back—Lunara's laughter, her soft hands placing the clip in her hair, a promise that had faded with time. His grip on the case tightened.

"Finally," he whispered.

He had waited so long.

This time, I would never let her go.  he said
