I finally woke up and looked around. The Vampire Kingdom was drenched in a deep blood-red hue, giving the entire place a chilling, ominous feel.
"Hi, you're awake?" Leon said, his voice calm, almost playful.
I remained cautious, my senses alert. He noticed and laughed softly. "No need to be on guard with me."
I glared at him. "Then untie me," I demanded.
With a flick of his wrist, Leon effortlessly removed the bindings around my hands and feet.
"So, do you remember anything from 600 years ago?" he asked, his tone curious but teasing.
I stared at him in confusion. He chuckled softly. "You'll remember soon enough," he said with a smile.
"Why did you bring me to your kingdom?" I asked, my voice wary.
Leon's gaze darkened, and he replied, "600 years ago, we all knew each other — you, me, and Rei."
I froze. "I? I was just born 18 years ago. I wasn't even alive 600 years ago."
He simply smiled and shook his head. "You'll know soon."
I studied his face carefully. He had red eyes that glowed like blood, with long, dark hair, and a handsome face similar to Rei's.
"Tell me more about what happened 600 years ago," I pouted, wanting to understand more.
Leon grinned. "You're still as cute as you were back then." He patted my head, and I scowled in annoyance.
"Alright, I'll tell you," he said, settling back into a more serious tone. "600 years ago, I had a brother. He was cruel, incredibly cruel. He would bully the weak, torment beautiful women, and if a woman rejected him, he would drain her blood until she died. No one could stop him; his power was far greater than mine. My power was only a quarter of his."
I gasped. "Wow, your brother was that evil and that strong?"
Leon nodded. "Yes. After that, Rei and I tried to stop him, but we were defeated badly and left injured. That's when a woman appeared. She saved both Rei and me, who were unconscious by the river."
He paused, his smile softening as he continued, "She was so kind and beautiful. Rei and I both admired her because she was gentle and caring. She was the most beautiful woman we had ever met. Without her, we might've died by that river."
Leon smiled nostalgically as he finished his story, but then he stopped. "That's enough for now. You'll learn everything that happened 600 years ago, and why my friendship with Rei turned into enmity."
I pouted again. "But that's not fair! You didn't finish the story!"
Leon chuckled lightly. "Rest now. I'll leave you to recover."
With that, Leon walked out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts, still trying to make sense of everything he had said.
I lay down on the bed, my mind swirling with questions. What did he mean? What happened 600 years ago? Why did everything change? And how was I connected to it all?
