Chapter 10

Kellan found the hotel where I was staying.

I was awakened by the sound of an argument at the door.

"My darling is staying in there! Why can't I go in!?"

"I'm going in no matter what. Is it wrong for me to see my own darling?"

The noise was so loud that the receptionist at the front desk was at a loss.

I had no choice but to open the door.

"Honey, why did you come out here to stay by yourself without saying a word? Let's go home, shall we?"

Kellan's eyes were bloodshot, with red rims, and he had a faint stubble on his chin.

"This gentleman insisted that you were his darling. He sat outside the door all night and only now came up to call for you!"

Sat outside all night, trying to impress himself?

I had no energy to guess, nor did I want to.

"Honey, can't you just let bygones be bygones? How about we go to the hospital now?"

I shook off his hand. The same hand that was all over another woman last night was now grabbing me, and I found it revolting.
