Chapter 8

"Let's divorce."

After sending this message, I blocked all of Kellan's contact information.

I went home and packed up all my belongings.

It really did prove Kellan's words true - I was just like my mother, penny-pinching.

After so many years of marriage, my luggage amounted to only one suitcase.

I checked into a random hotel, took two sleeping pills, and drifted off into a hazy slumber.

Having suffered from insomnia for so long, melatonin no longer did the trick.

I dreamed again.

When did Kellan start to change?

It was when Sarah appeared.

Because of Sarah, Kellan and I had countless arguments.

After we started trying for a baby, my emotions became unstable, and Kellan helped me quit my job.

My entire sense of self-worth could only come from pots and pans and my husband.

People around me mocked me, saying what good was my high education when I revolved around my husband both at work and at home.

They called me a parasitic vine, destined to rely on a man for life.
