Sarah was crouched in front of a bridal shop when we found her.
As we approached, she suddenly burst into tears.
"You know, Kellan, I've always dreamed of wearing this wedding dress, but I know I'm too late."
"I want it so badly... but I want you and my sister to be happy even more. As long as you two are happy, that's enough."
Kellan grabbed my wrist and ran across the street without a care.
The memory of the last car accident was still fresh in my mind. Because of that crash, I lost the baby I had been waiting six years for.
"Ah—let go of my hand! Kellan, let go of my hand!" I was terrified to the core. This road was busy with heavy traffic, and the constant flow of cars frightened me.
"Hurry up and come on, stop pretending! You have to apologize to Sarah in person!"
Kellan gripped my wrist tightly, not letting me break free.
Several cars brushed past me, barely missing my body.
When I came back to my senses, my legs were like jelly.
