Glenn entered the arena, an aura of arrogance and power radiating from his every step. He always found a way out, even when the initial plan fell apart.
With a sly smile gracing his face, he opened his mouth, "Come on, don't be so listless, because..."
However, his words were cut short by a whistling wind. An axe flew swiftly towards his head. With the power of Claio'mh soll'ais, the artifact he possessed, Glenn was able to swing his sword as fast as lightning.
The flying axe was just a minor distraction. A greater danger lurked. This arena was indeed full of surprises. From an unexpected direction, a bullet sped, aiming for his head.
Fortunately, the bullet only hit the device on his body and bounced off. "Alright, time to retaliate," he muttered, ignoring the dozens of flashing notifications.
Suddenly, a flash of white light enveloped Glenn. "New job: 178.soliswordsmen," a notification whispered in his ear.
The next moment, the sword in his hand emitted a bright light. "Imbued light!" he exclaimed, and a powerful light illuminated the entire arena.
"Perfect, this way I'm immune to flashbangs," he thought, while covering himself with his invisible cloak.
Glenn darted towards the nearest enemy, who was still reeling from the light. With a swift movement, he slashed his opponent down. The strength and sharpness of his sword increased rapidly thanks to the light sword skill.
Two snipers hiding in the heights also fell, struck by the deadly light. Another chose to retreat.
The fight continued to the second round, this time with six enemies. "Let's try a new skill," Glenn said, examining his skill list.
Soliswordsmen lvl3:
* Imbued light: Ignites light into the sword, producing a blinding light.
* Counter paralyze: Immune to paralysis and increases sensitivity to long-range attacks.
* Rapid cut: Consecutive slashes that definitely cause bleeding wounds.
"Alright," he said, ready to face the challenge.
The match began, and Glenn was immediately showered with fireballs. He knew it was impossible to dodge them all, so he took a step back and covered himself with his invisible cloak.
The attackers were confused, attacking from various directions to find Glenn. "Of all my skills, none can make me move fast or instantly kill enemies," he thought. He knew he had to act to finish this round.
Glenn suddenly emerged from his hiding place, stowing his cloak, and ran as fast as he could to the back, trying to buy time.
He tried to lift the axe stuck in the floor, but it was too sturdy and heavy. A barrage of fireballs rained down on him again.
"What's with this, spamming fireballs? Don't you have any other skills?" he grumbled inwardly.
Glenn kept running, turning his back to his opponents. He realized that his opponents numbered 11, not 6. Six were the mage squad, and the other five were the support squad.
They kept attacking from one direction. Glenn changed his running direction, moving back and forth to confuse his opponents and find an opening.
"Counter paralyze!"
"Imbued light!"
Glenn dashed towards his enemies, breaking their formation in an instant. The bright light blinded his opponents, making them unable to attack.
"Paralyzed!"
"Luckily, I'm immune to paralysis," Glenn said, relieved.
"How about this?"
"Chained!"
Glenn's steps halted, his body feeling heavy. He was affected by strained, which slowed his movements and disrupted his attacks.
The effect made it difficult for him. "Oh no, I can't attack properly," he complained. "Luckily, they're running out of energy, can't do much," he thought, sighing in relief.
However, his assumption was wrong. The enemy support squad could use teleportation magic. Because his device was broken, Glenn couldn't determine the opponent's job for sure.
The enemies rearranged their formation, but they looked exhausted. "If only I could do magic," Glenn muttered.
The fight became boring. The audience cheered in disappointment, but the match wasn't over. One by one, the audience protested the organizers, and the second round ended with Glenn's victory.
"What's with this?" Glenn growled, then shouted, expressing his disappointment. However, he knew it was futile. He was always ready to face whatever awaited him.
However, what appeared was not a human, but a monster. A three-foot-tall humanoid monster, cloaked in black, carrying a grimoire, and surrounded by magical effects.
The monster was different, able to communicate in human language. "Hey, kid, I'll give you one request. But you have to be able to fight me. Library book keeper! Go, Golem Golem!"
Books fluttered, forming a golem. Golem Golems made of books appeared, four feet tall, taller than the monster.
The monster attacked the unprepared Glenn. Glenn tried to slash the golem, but the books fluttered again, and the golem returned to its original form.
"Forbidden spell!"
"Oh no, the light is gone!" Glenn panicked, as the light of his sword went out.
"Rapid slash!"
"Damn, it regenerated again. Turns out it's bloodless."
Glenn, who was struggling, became the laughing stock of the audience, making him annoyed. "Wait a minute, library book keeper. Hey, audience, if you want an exciting scene, throw me something!" Glenn shouted.
The audience agreed and pelted Glenn with various objects. A situation that was both disadvantageous and advantageous.
"Wait a moment, library book keeper. Throw me something else. This is what I need!" Someone threw a staff at Glenn.
A bright red light reappeared. "New job: 59.wizard. New job: Conversion job soliswordsmen - Solimancer. New job: 175.solimancer. With this, today i'am the superior fighter now!"
