The Hoodsmen Bandits.

It's been almost a month since Rune had killed the Knight of the Fourth Order, Sir Cain. The incident had sent a sensation throughout the city of Carvonia.

The city guards and investigators were deployed to find out what had happened but to no avail.

The bloody words ' JUSTICE ' left on the floor of the treasury left the Carvonia hierarchy in chaos.

Why? Because they knew each other's dealings, and that one of them had been decisively killed, made them jump at shadows.

They laid low while sending their intelligence into overdrive. But all this was a waste of time because the culprit was long gone!

...

Rune wanted to keep a low profile for a while. Especially after sending the city of Carvonia into chaos.

After stocking his shop with more premium weapons and opening a jewelry shop on the same street, he left for the forest to stay low while he grows stronger.

He left his mother ( from now on, I will be referring to his adopted mother as mother) in charge of both his shops. She saw to the daily operations of both shops.

For her protection, he had made her a necklace that protected her from spiritual and physical attacks. The necklace could protect her even from attacks by someone at the Jade Cultivation Level.

...

He had gone for miles, walking in a straight line in the direction of the forest where he had met Sigrid. He really missed her.

Grey would go into the forest for hours before coming back. He didn't mind this at all. She was now a big girl who could protect herself.

On the seventh day on his way to the forest, he came upon a well trodden dusty road that led to a village not far off. He decided to stay the night there.

...

Rune read the banner hanging in front of the wooden tarven 'The Moonlight Tarven' before making his way into the warm interior.

The tarven was simple but clean and spacious for an establishment in a remote village as this.

Rune sat in a corner, with his back to the wall. A petite lady in an apron placed his order, a steaming bowl of stewed magical beast meat, a half loaf and a large cup of tea , a contrast to the frothing cups of ail on the other tables, in front of him. He hungrily dug into his food disregarding everything else in the room.

Bang!!!

The door to the tarven flew open and the free comfortable chit chat died down. Everyone turned to look at the door.

A large full bearded man with tattoos all over his arms entered. Behind him came a group of eight laughing and pushing men.

They headed to the bar, sending those who sat there scrambling away.

" Nine mugs of your best ail Reginald, anything less and I will start cutting fingers! Hahahaha!!!!"

The bearded man shouted at the old man behind the bar who fearfully opened a casket of beer hidden under the bar and handed it over to him.

" Where's your beautiful daughter eh, last time she wasn't around when I visited, said to be visiting with her aunt eh. This t'me saw her myself! Call her forth and come over to me." The man was shameless.

Rune had not paid much attention to these riff raffs, untill he heard a wailing of a young girl.

He turned his head and saw a woman who had served him lunch being dragged by two thugs to their boss.

Rune: Not again! Why can't I have peace in this damn world! I can't even have a meal without being disturbed!

Tell them. Lenthandra nonchalantly replied.

And that is what Rune did.

" Hey blockheads! Keep the shut up, I prefer my lunch quietly!"

The whole tarven fell dead silent at the sudden voice. No one had ever dared to speak up to the Hoodsmen and lived to tell the story. The Hoodsmen was a gang of bandits that lived not far off from this village. They robbed and raped travelers, and killing definitely wasn't a new activity to them.

Honestly speaking, Rune wanted something or somewhere to vent his frustration. He had been forced to lay low because of the chaos in Carvonia. He had to hide! All because he was powerless to protect himself! He couldn't help but feel bitter about himself.

And here was his chance. He had thrown the bait and now was time to see if they will bite it.

The large man sneered and send one of his man with a head gesture.

The man had a rusted broadsword on his back and a mean face. He kicked Rune's table sending it flipping through the air. Food and tea smeared and splashed on Rune's face in equal measures.

" You have done it" the words came out soft but everyone in the tarven heard them.

Rune's eyes glowed blue as he stood up from his stool.

Boom!!

before the man could react, a punch to the stomach sent him flying and crashing in the nearby tables.

Rune followed up with a kick to the head and another to the man's groin.

The man whimpered clasping his hands between his legs, tears unceasingly flowing from his eyes.

The room was shocked into silence. No one moved. The quiet before the storm.

" Hughp, this is much better, if only this man turns his whimpers into a song" Rune said as he turned his back to the Hoodsmen.

The bandits were incensed. Who dares humiliate them like this! They saw blood.

The room broke out in chaos as villagers ran for their lives, pushing everyone in their way, while the bandits drew their weapons.

There was no finesse to the fight, it was a brawl. Fists flew everywhere. Rune weaved his way among the bandits punching and punching and punching untill his knuckles were red with their blood.

From behind the counter, Reginald could feel shattering bones with each punch from the young man.

In no time, the bandits lay on the ground groaning from all kinds of wounds, broken bones, twisted muscles, burst eyes , you name it.

"Unfortunately for you, I don't leave enemies behind"
