The following morning, Rune convened with Grey and then made their way to the forest. They traveled for another half month before they came to the entrance.
The whole part of the forest in Valoria was surrounded by a transparent dom shaped magical wall that protected the people from the beasts that resides in this forest.
The magical wall has been there as far back as anyone could remember. Some even say the wall predated the established kingdoms of this continent.
The only known way in or out of the forest was through the entrance that Rune was standing before. He paid his entrance fee and entered the forest.
Rune didn't waste any time. He got on Lenthandra's back after storing Grey in the system and flew deep into the forest.
They made good time. By nightfall, they had reached the Jade Body magical beasts territory. He needed to enter the soul Realm as soon as possible. He had thought himself a fast cultivator but alas, it wasn't enough!

Rune was sitting leaning against Lenthandra's leg and checked his attributes.
what can I use the mana cores for?
He mentally asked Lenthandra. These mana cores had been in his system since the last time he had been here.
Lenthandra: they can be used to buy things from the system, to power magical artefacts or, simply put, to level up your attributes. But mana cores have more potency than you can handle for now. Try using them once you start cultivating.
Rune: what do you mean when I start cultivating? Do I need to cultivate when I have the system?
Lenthandra: the others have started cultivating, but you haven't. Yeah I know the system indicates that you are a Jade Cultivator Level. In actuality, it is a pre stage before cultivation. Remember, when you were below the diamond level, the system did not provide a slot for cultivation level. Why? Because you were just a holder of the system with dormant potential to cultivate.
As you made progress, the system slowly awakened and is preparing you to the day you start cultivating. You haven't even scratched the functions of the system. With your body ryt now, you cannot bear the activation of half the features
In essence, you haven't began Cultivating, plus this plane is just a lower plane the higher planes harvest cultivators from.
But you need not worry, because once you start cultivating, no one will stand in your way. You are a holder of a Primordial System, a specialized one at that.
Lenthandra finished her informative speech with a flapping of wings, sending debris flying everywhere.
Lenthandra: you will understand more when you reach the Soul Realm. The system will condense your sketch interface before reaching the Soul Realm. That's all you need to know for now.

Days flew by as they hunted. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months.
The trio became a killing machine. Among the three of them, they didn't bat an eye at the Jade beasts. They focused on the Early and Middle Soul Realm Beasts.
Grey grew far much stronger than was imaginable. Her fur grew slick and shiny. Overally her coat became thick and impenetrable to beast claws and magical attacks.
She had grown as tall as a full grown cow. Her agility, speed and strength had improved far surpassing Rune's.
Lenthandra's changes were the most noticeable. She had grown more majestic. She effortlessly exhibited a regal aura.
Her every movement was graceful and precise. She had grown so much that the tall trees couldn't hide her anymore. Her length nearly reached hundred metres.
Her scales had grown and thickened into a shiny black scale armour. If Grey's coat was armour, then Lenthandra's was fifty fold that armour. Even Severance couldn't leave a scratch on her scales.
Her claws had grown thick and sharp. Each swipe of those claws had torn through the bodies of countless beasts.
Rune had grown numb to the weather elements. His skin had tanned and thickened, courtesy to the harsh weather conditions.
He didn't need the system to know that his physical attributes had grown. His speed and agility had trippled, and his strength had grown so much that he could crash rocks with a punch.
The only thing that didn't sit well with Rune was that Lenthandra and Grey horded all the spoils of their hunting! The only thing that kept him going was that they convinced him that it was for his own good. Some nonsense of hardship building character bla bla bla and preparing him for the cultivation world.

Sure enough, his system interface had removed some specifics. But by now he had thought he would have reached the Soul Realm. He could only grit his teeth and doggedly continue.

One year passed since he entered this forest, then one and half years flew by.
It was two years and a few months later that one day he woke up to find himself suspended in the air. In front of him floated two orbs of light. One was deep red with streaks of lightning sporadically flashing through it. The other one was deep blue with green and black veins forming a capillary of networks all over it.
Rune could feel the power from both these orbs. The air around the two orbs flactuated with power and the space warped.
Rune reached out with his soul sense and felt familiar auras, Grey and Lenthandra's.
Before he could look and check what happened to them, the two orbs flew towards him. The deep blue entered his chest and lodged itself into his heart before starting to rotate.
The deep red one flew into his head and lodged itself in the forehead before starting to revolve just like the deep blue orb
