When Athasia and Mira entered the classroom, the entire room fell into stunned silence. It wasn't just the fact that Athasia, the infamous ice queen, had arrived—it was that Mira, known for her charm and friendliness, was practically glued to her side.
The contrast between the two was stark. Athasia, with her ethereal beauty and cold aura, exuded an untouchable presence, while Mira, grinning like a mischievous fox, clung to her as if they had been best friends for years.
The students whispered among themselves.
"Since when did Mira get so close to Athasia?"
"Isn't Athasia the type to ignore everyone?"
"Mira is literally the only person who dares to act like that around her."
Athasia, on the other hand, looked thoroughly annoyed. She had already pushed Mira away three times since they stepped into the classroom, but Mira, being the shameless person she was, only became more persistent.
"Stop sticking to me," Athasia muttered, side-stepping as Mira tried to wrap her arms around her again.
Mira pouted dramatically. "Why are you so cold? We're practically sisters now, you know."
Athasia shot her a sharp look, which Mira conveniently ignored as she threw herself over Athasia's desk, resting her chin on her hands.
"Come on, Athasia," she whined, batting her lashes. "I know you love me."
Athasia exhaled slowly, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Mira."
"Yes?"
"Move before I throw you out the window."
Mira only grinned wider. "You wouldn't."
Athasia gave her a deadpan stare before cracking her knuckles. Mira, finally sensing the impending danger, scooted back slightly but still refused to leave Athasia's side.
The rest of the class watched in amusement and shock. This was a side of Athasia they had never seen before—one where she actually tolerated someone's presence for more than a few seconds.
Of course, it didn't stop them from being utterly baffled.
"Mira is seriously fearless."
"How did she even get close to Athasia?"
"Isn't Athasia about to kill her?"
Despite all the pushing, glaring, and silent threats, Mira remained happily latched onto Athasia for the rest of the class, much to everyone's disbelief.
