Chapter 27

The classroom was still buzzing from Mira's shameless clinginess when the door suddenly opened, and the teacher strode in, silencing the students instantly.

Clearing his throat, the teacher adjusted his glasses and looked at the class. "Settle down. Before we begin, we have a new student joining us today. I'm sure most of you already know him."

The moment those words left his mouth, the air in the classroom shifted. Whispers erupted as students exchanged excited and nervous glances. Some of them had already speculated earlier about the world's richest heir enrolling in their school, but hearing it confirmed sent a wave of anticipation through them.

And then, he stepped in.

Zamiel.

The moment he entered the room, the entire class fell into stunned silence. Unlike the playful, arrogant heir they had imagined, Zamiel exuded an aura so cold and oppressive that it made the air feel heavy. His tall frame, sharp red-black hair, and piercing gray eyes held an almost inhuman intensity as he surveyed the room with indifference.

Dressed in the school's uniform, he somehow made it look more refined, more dangerous—like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The teacher gestured toward him. "Go ahead and introduce yourself."

Zamiel barely spared anyone a glance as he shoved his hands into his pockets and said, "Zamiel."

That was it. Just his name. Plain and detached.

Yet, somehow, it sent a ripple of unease and admiration through the class. Some girls blushed, whispering excitedly, while others shrank back, intimidated by his presence. The guys either looked wary or annoyed, especially the ones who considered themselves top of the school hierarchy.

Mira, who had been teasing Athasia moments ago, was now grinning knowingly as she watched Athasia's reaction. And as expected, Athasia looked irritated.

Her fingers tapped lightly against her desk, and her brows twitched in displeasure.

Zamiel, noticing her expression, smirked slightly before walking further into the room. His gaze flickered toward her, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Irritated, are you?" his smirk seemed to say.

Athasia rolled her eyes.

Mira bit back a laugh. This is going to be fun.
