Change of heart

Kael went back into his ship and headed straight to his room. He moved over to the workshop where he had VIREN, his personal AI assistant bring up his mission logs to see what the chain mission was all about.

The mission logs appeared in front of him as he quickly found the chain mission and skimmed through it a bit.

"My guess was right, this is a huge waste of my time designed to help them as much as possible." Kael stated looking at the mission.

The main mission he acquired from the council was a chain mission that spread across ten different locations. Each location was a spire nest that he had to deal with and these locations were spread incredibly far away from each other.

The mission briefing stated that he'd be provided a vehicle but he was sure it wasn't gonna be a ship. After reading over everything, Kael went to the center of his room.

"I really tried my best not to do this, especially not this soon but, oh well." Kael sat down on the floor with both arms stretched forward as he closed his eyes.

Nullborne Manifestation's power boost to others was a more in-depth connection than a simple power boost. It allowed the user to imprint a Nullborne anchor into the body of the person he wanted to help.

The anchor would boost the person's physical capabilities but that wasn't all. The anchor, once given enough time or energy would root itself into a subjects energy core or create one in case they had none.

This allowed the subject to bypass the limits and rules of their own power for a limited amount of times a day. An all out of sorts. In exchange for this benefit, the subjects would naturally also gather Nullborne Matter from resting, half of which would return to Kael while the other half revitalized the core. Subjects also provided a bit of their ability's power to Kael.

For a person with no ability, this was even better as once the core had a sufficient amount of time and energy to form properly, they would gain a pseudo idiospec. A singular skill begotten from Kael himself and in return, they would generate Nullborne Matter for him.

This and many more reasons were why Kael was able to use his power extravagantly. He had 104 people that naturally provided Nullborne Matter with two of those providing specific boosts to his Nullborne Matter. Oris provided a burn effect to all his natural energy based attacks and Dren, well.

Kael sat in the same position with his arm stretched out for hours as a large concentration of Nullborne Matter gathered in front of him. The rest of the Nullborne Matter he had accumulated within his body was used up as the concentration slowly took shape.

Slowly, a sharp tip was formed, extending into a long slightly wide blade and slowly forming a hilt to finish it of.

A standard longsword was made but this one was blue and slightly transparent. It also didn't have as much durability as an actual longsword. It could still kill normal people and low grade spires but anything above that and it would shatter.

This was his secret weapon, if he had more Nullborne Matter, he could have created a solid sword but this would have to do.

Kael stood up from the ground. His body currently felt a little empty since none of his subordinates were resting which meant he'd have to get a little Nullborne Matter the old fashioned way. As soon as the thought crossed his mind he dropped onto his bed and fell asleep.

The last group of 100 people left the outpost as everything went silent. Kael's subordinates had been sent to occupy the Titan Spire where their main job would be to create smooth communication networks between eleven sources and the Titan Spire.

Communication with the first ten sources had been quite simple because they were all within the confines of the planet, the eleventh not so much.

A medium sized vanguard class battleship ship approached the planet. Unlike Kael's small sized vanguard class crew ship, this one was big enough to house 5000 people comfortably, maybe more if they wanted to. The ship was also more developed than Kael's. As it got near the planet's atmosphere, a cloaking shield activated as the vanguard class battleship disappeared from all prospective radars.

Kael's subordinates worked diligently for the first day and established all ten connections easily and called it a day. Tomorrow they would try their luck with the eleventh connection.

As they gathered on the second floor to share their barracks spaces, Captain Vaylan called a meeting with every single one of them. They all gathered at the first floor as the captain stood in front of the 100 tired subordinates.

"I gathered you all here to congratulate you greatly on connecting us to our ten mini outposts spread across the planet although I would love it if you could connect us with the main Murion base as soon as possible." The captain spoke.

The subordinates were all confused as they weren't even informed of what they were supposed to connect to. They had been gathered and started working before the outpost members dispersed so they didn't even know that they were in an abandoned outpost yet but they could all agree on something, they were going to rest tonight and continue working tomorrow.

"Sorry captain but we can't complete that job today. We all are tired and need our rest. Also, we need to rest in order to gather more Axion particles for Master Kael." One of the subordinates said. He had to mention their use to Kael so he could use the Murion name to help himself and his peers.

Captain Vaylan smiled calmly as he looked at the subordinate that spoke up to oppose his decision. This was his outpost, a place he built from the ground up, he sacrificed a thousand lives to make this outpost thrive and all the Murions did was milk them for everything they were worth.

How dare a lowly subordinate, someone who didn't hold any position of importance within the faction speak against him. The Murions made everyone who worked under them cocky, thinking their above the entire world.

Click, beep, beep, beep.

Something clicked, three distinct beeps sounded through a radio attached to the Captain's tool belt. His smile suddenly turned ice cold as he snapped his fingers. The elevator door suddenly opened as footsteps could be heard coming from its direction.

Everyone turned their heads only for a sudden squishy sound to resound among them. Blood splattered on those closest to the source of the sound as others turned to look in that direction. The subordinate that spoke up had turned to red paste on the ground.

"Now, anyone else wanna complain about the unfinished task at hand." The captain said coldly as Sariah came to stand by his side.
