Chapter 14: Ex-girlfriend
"You better treat her right" martha said hands on her hip, jacob gave her the deepest bow he could, martha basically watch Brianna grow up when Susan would bring her over to her house sometimes she'll be there and she'll help look after her aswell.
"Hello beautiful" Ethan called to jian who was busy stuffing her face
"Hey handsome" she flirted back her cheeks puffed up from the buns in her mouth she looked like a squirrel which made ethan chuckle,
"What? want my number" she asked with a flirtatious smile,after swallowing her food
"No" Ethan answered and jian made a dramatic gasp
"Your loss" she flipped her hair as she rummaged through the snack section
"Oh try this" she said grabbing one of the snacks and instead of taking it, he bend down and ate it directly from her hands, jian scrunched her nose but still picked up another piece for him to taste.
"Look at you guys" chloe teased and jian picked up another piece to shove into her mouth to keep her quite as the three chatted and chloe kept teasing the two, they heard someone call Ethan
"Ethan" the person said again as if trying to confirm if it really was Ethan
"Ann" Ethan sounded surprised
"What are you doing here" he asked with a smile as he walked towards her giving her a side hug
"What are you doing here" she asked back giggling
"I told you i was attending a wedding with my friends" Ann answered, she did tell him that but what were the odss that it was Brianna and jacob's wedding, plus Ann doesn't even know the couple according to his knowledge and he was right, Ann was actually invited by her friend. Jian really wanted to throw something. First it was that super nice girl Fiona now this smiling Ann. It was like her and chloe fadded away as the two were absorbed in their own world laughing and talking about stuff she had no internet in, which made her more pissed, even chloe looked at them with raised brows.
"You think she was the one that texted him" she asked and when she didn't receive a response from jian who was shooting lasers at the two she added
"The text he refused to show you" making sure jian knew what she was talking about
"Probably" she whispered back as they stared at the two, finally ethan remembered his best friends
"Oh this is my best friend J-" and before he could complete he's sentence Ann streached her hands
"Jian right" she asked but more like said, jian was taken aback for a second before she accepted the handshake
"Yeap and this is chloe" he continued, Ann shook her hand aswell
"Guys, this is Ann" Ethan said completing he's introduction. Before the girls could get to know each other a bit more, Stephanie called them over to help Brianna change into her second outfit so they had to bid goodbye to the two before leaving
"a jealous best friend i see" Ann commented as they walked on, Ethan turned back to look at Jian, she was jealous the thought made him really happy, if she was jealous that means she likes him to some degree right.
"Her" he asked with a smile
"She probably fears I'll steal her best friend" Ann said looking up at him, he didn't want that type of jealousy, he didn't want the i fear my best friend will be stolen jealousy, he wanted a she'll steal him jealousy but still that wasn't going to ruin he's mood, he's delusional mind concluded already. Ann and Ethan attended the same programs for the pass 4 years together and were trying to get into the same Nasa group, they're like science besties. Ann's text was the one that he was hiding from jian and not because he was in some kind of relationship with her but because they were talking about her and how he was planning on asking her out and Ann was he's relations coach that was why he was hiding the message. As they walked on and talked mostly about their upcoming test and jian, they bumped into Ann's friend the one that she came with Fiona and she was chatting and giggling with a guy.
"That's my friend" Ann pointed
"Ohh" Ethan nodded so Ann's friend is Seth's Ex, the two decided introductions can be done later they didn't want to ruin the moment for Seth and Fiona
"She would have skinned me alive, if we interrupted her moment" Ann giggled, Fiona wouldn't shut up about seth and how they're going to see each other again, she spent the whole week finding for the perfect dress, she was ready to win her love back
"Why" Ethan asked trying to fish out more information
"That's her first love, they broke up but it was all peaceful and stuff, she's trying to get back together" Ann explained looking back at the two, looked like her coaching lesson we're working, well single people do give the best advice, unlucky her she was always falling into one sided crushes and she was trying to get out of one at that moment. The two didn't talk about love anymore and just chatted on their test and how they're preparing for it, they even set a date to meet and go over their papers.
The girls helped Brianna put on her second dress for the afternoon, the ball grown was too big for dancing
"Done" the atmosphere wasn't sober and emotional as in the morning, the girls were all giggles and excitement
"Who are you going to give your first dance with" jian asked chloe and she shrugged, actually she was going to have a talk with the boys and end it all for good, she didn't have the mental capacity to deal with them anymore, she just had one more year to finish university and then she'll move out of town and go find a greener grass for herself.
"You" she replied hanging onto Jian's arm and the two giggled. The girls walked out of the room to the dance floor to party.
"Chloe" someone called, Stephanie and the others were already Infront and it was just chloe and jian left behind, she turned around and saw Berlu. Her heart started, okay she did say she was going to confront them one by one because those two boys together is always trouble and end it once and for all but now that he was standing in front of her, she was second guessing it. She felt jian squeeze her hand and she nodded, it was now or never
"Oh, i was looking for you" she said letting go of Jian's hand, jian gave her thumbs up for encouragement before walking away.
On her way, she couldn't help but think about chloe, should she go back and just stay at a distance Incase anything goes wrong, she does trust berlu and know he's not stupid enough to try anything funny but you never know. She can't believe those boys did that do her, she remembered how excited chloe would be on the phone since they couldn't see each other much due to their locations, although she was just 2 hours ago. School was going on, she spent almost a year at a company interning, they're she meet Berlu and frank. They talked on the phone every night and each time they did have time to visit, Chloe would kick her feet and be giggling everytime she talked about how sweet and romantic frank was until one day she called just sobbing and mumbling incoherent words, jian was so scared but chloe just told her that frank was an asshole and they were over. She assumed at that time that they broke up so she was really sad about it or frank cheated on her but it was even worst, then she started hanging out with berlu and then weeks later she called sobbing again and again she said berlu was a jerk and she was done with boys. Jian sighed these boys were really just the worst. As jian walked along thinking about Chloe's unfortunate situation she happened to see something shinning, it was little crystals on a light pink dress, then she saw the blond hair, she heard laughing then his and her voice, again she immediately hid herself. What was wrong with her, she was about to turn back and use another way but she heard them talking and became curious, what we're they discussing so instead if walking away she stayed to eavesdrop.
"I left for like 5 minutes and you're smoking" she scolded and that's when jian noticed, last time she forgot to ask about it but seth just smiled stretching out he's hand and she saw Fiona rummage through her bag before she pulled out something just like mina did the night before it was,
"Candy" she muttered to herself, seth took it then handed her the cigarettes which she put out. He unwrapped the candy before putting it in mouth.
"Did you ask mina to watch over me or something" Seth joked when he saw the confused look on her face, he told her that mina happened to see him smoking so she offered him the same candy. When they were dating she hated that he smoke so she tried to get him to stop but anytime he was under stress he would smoke so she started carrying sweet candy around and he would just munch on that instead of smoking it became a habit that he could carry it around too incase she wasn't there but after they broke up, he stopped carrying it around and fell back into his old habits
"Yeah" Fiona answered, she lied, she didn't tell mina to look after her ex-boyfriend, the one that she knows very well she has a crush on. At first back in middle school she didn't know mina had a crush on Seth, mina actually bumped into seth at the convenience store when the bullies sent her to buy them snacks in the middle of the night when it was raining and she didn't have any umbrella, they were having night studies. Seth saw ber in the rain sobbing and trying to carry all the things she bought as they kept falling one by one, he helped her pick it up and gave her a ride and even gave her he's umbrella. When she became friends with fiona no one dares bully her, fiona was literally the Queen of the school, one night they were chatting and talking about boys and Fiona asked if she liked anyone that's when she told Fiona about her prince charming that she bumped into 2 weeks back, Fiona was excited for her and she even told him how she started developing feeling for her friend at that time they didn't know they were talking about thesame guy. Until highschool and they all ended up in the same school and she happen to hear mina talking about how she finally found her Prince charming to her other friends, the next day she saw how flustered, nervous and surprised mina was when she was introducing her to seth and she started observing her and putting two together after she confirmed it was seth that mina had a crush on, she acted fast she knew the girl rule all she had to do was tell mina that she liked seth and seth was the friend she started developing feelings for and she'll back down, she would hate to fight over a man with her friend but she wasn't going to give up Seth so she did and just like she guessed mina gave up on seth and pretended like she didn't like him but she knew she did and still do. Was mina thinking of getting together with seth now that they broke up, she wondered
"What are you my mom" seth asked bumping her shoulders with his
"No, Ex-girlfriend" she said shrugging her shoulders her response made seth laugh
"Why don't you carry sweets around anymore" she asked, rubbing her hands over her shoulders, her dress was tin, they're was a slit running all the ways up pass her knee, her dress was sleeveless so she was feeling cold especially that they were not inside it was colder, seth noticed so he removed he's suit jacket to give her to wear
"Thanks" Fiona thanked and jian couldn't help gasp, why was she acting all cute and shy. So she carries around sweets for him to quite smoking, grown man like him can't he do that,
"Because you're not around to nag me to quit" he answered her questions
"So i have to nag you to quite" she asked and he nodded
"What I'm i your mother" she asked with raised brows
"No Ex-girlfriend" he used her word against her which made her laugh
"Well I'm back so expect more nagging" she rolled her eyes and smiled at him. Jian couldn't take it anymore she walked away. If he even dared to smile at her, she'll cut he's balls. She meet Ethan at the hall
"Where were you" he asked worried as he grabbed both her shoulders
"We looked for you guys everywhere" he said
"We" she asked, she knew the guys meant her and chloe but who was the we apart from ethan
"Frank" he answered and jian had a bad feeling
"Where's frank" she asked nervous, although ethan was confused he answered
"He bumped into a friend so i left them chatting" jian took a deep breath, for a moment she thought he was with Chloe or something, those two boys together and Chloe she felt like something will go wrong intentionally or unintentionally.
