Chapter 30: Petty play
Seth spent the whole night day dreaming and then looking through the documents sent to him, when he arrived he saw Fiona's missed calls and wondered why she had called so much, he knew the girl was dramatic too. One time she sent a texts saying it an emergency and to come asap he immediately left his meeting with very important clients thinking her Xanthophobia triggered or it was something serious turns out it was just a rat but nonetheless with that much missed called he felt like it shouldn't be a situation of the boy crying wolf so he called back but she didn't pick up, maybe she was mad he missed so much of her calls so he called back but thesame thing so he concluded she was probably asleep and would call back when she saw his missed calls or he'll call back in the morning. He slept around 6 in the morning so he was still exhausted and out of it when he heard his phone ring, he grabbed it whilst his eyes was still half closed and still sleepy. In his groggy state the way he grabbed the phone and because it finally came on the message notification that popped up he didn't realize it and yanked his phone off the charger to receive the call he ended up pressing 'mark as read' on the message making the notification go back and the message getting marked as read, he opened his eyes to see the caller and immediately picked up
"Hey" he answered the person on the other line took a few seconds before answering back
"Did i wake u up" she sounded apologetic which made Seth chuckle, she did wake him up but he didn't actually mind infact he was pleased her voice was the first thing he heard when he woke up
"Well yes but its fine since its you" he flirted and jian snorted, this guy she smiled
"Happy birthday" he wished, the two chatted for a while before jian asked him out for a breakfast treat
"You're asking me out" Seth teased at this point he was fully awake did jian take the initiative to ask him out even though it was just casual breakfast he was still excited
"Ugh it's not like that" she groaned and seth just kept on teasing her
"Café France" she said giving him the address
"Café France" he asked as if to confirm, which made jian a bit upset. What did he think because him and that Fiona girl were the only ones to be able to dine there, well i mean she was still sitting there in the name of the reservation Fiona made but still
"Why don't think i can afford it" she asked and seth catched on to the fact that she was offended. Jian did regret it after saying it though the stupid mango drink she just had was $60 and after drinking it she regretted it, she didn't want to spend another dime there but look at the hole she dug for herself
"I'll meet you there, since it's your birthday and you took the initiative to ask me out my treat" Seth said as he got up to pick his clothes, jian didn't decline the offer it made sense it was her birthday she deserved to be spoiled on this day so she agreed before hanging up, she looked out the cafe window and should see fiona stressing out as she stared at her phone. Did seth cancel their date to come meet with her was that why she was mad she thought as she stared at her pacing figure.
Fiona checked her phone for the third time going as far as removing her glasses, Seth did read her message and blatantly ignore her message not even a reply. On top of her frustration mina kept calling her even though she rejected the call the first time, can't this girl let her breath. She groaned, she got into her car to sit and calm down she didn't want to to have a panick attack, she didn't bring any EpiPens since she had been really stress free these days that she had been neglecting it, if she happened to get short of breath that won't end well for her so she had to calm down.
Seth took a quick shower and got dressed as fast as possible so that he wouldn't keep jian waiting, 40 minutes later after exceeding more than one speed limit, he was already almost at the cafe, jian came out to call and see how far he was but ended up bumping into him at the door. Fiona who finally calmed down and was listening to soothing music, happened to look out the window of her car and sew jian and seth, who was holding her shoulder and saying something which made jian smile, she had to rub her eyes to make sure she wasn't hallucinating, Seth that read her message, ignored it and didn't even bother to reply was now here with jian, she felt tears fill up her eyes, she wasn't only defeated but embarrassed after bragging to jian about having a date with seth, he was now here and she knew jian knew she was standing at the lux. She actually had important stuff to tell him and he just ignored her for jian, didn't he care for her anymore. She couldn't help but sob silently in her car. She immediately started feeling breathless and felt all her muscles stressed so she started doing the breathing exercises he thought her which just made her more miserable. So she immediately drove off she wanted to be in the comfort of her home.
"Whoa where are you going" Seth asked holding her shoulder, jian who almost felt defeated that seth wasn't coming and thought maybe he realized he liked Fiona better and ended up ditching her, when she saw him she couldn't help but smile
"I'm was almost going to leave" she pouted and seth chuckled
"I have a better place, wanna try it out" he whispered and jian immediately nodded and they left for his car. Jian wanted to ask so bad why did he cancel his breakfast date with Fiona because she damn well knew fiona couldn't take it sitting down, she wondered what he must have told her for her to actually just give up like that, fiona didn't look like the type but she held herself back. Seth noticed the weird energy around her as if she really wanted to say something but isn't saying it so he took the initiative to ask
"Is everything okay" but jian just nodded at him with a smile so he let it be. They arrived at a local dinner and Seth explained to her that him and his friends used to frequent the place and their food was really good and actually affordable and he wasn't lying when the arrived and ordered a simple breakfast it immediately arrived within 5 minutes jian couldn't help praise their service she wondered whether it was because it was Seth or the service was actually just that effective
"So why did you ask me out" seth teased with raised eyebrows leaving jian speechless this guy wasn't going to really drop it
"I'm not like asking you asking you out" jia corrected and seth laughed what was that he thought
"Okay, whatever makes you sleep at night young lady" seth said taking a bite of his food before nodding it has been at least a year or so when he last visited but the place still got it's magic
"I saw Fiona today" she said after a while of comfortable silence as they ate their food
"Really" Seth asked he didn't think much of it, but he did wonder how they'll bump into each other just a early morning, Fiona wasn't a morning person and Jian didn't look like one too.
"Where" he asked
"Cafe France" jian said putting her fork down and that's when seth begin to not feel not so relaxed about the two meeting up
"You two meet up" he asked and jian nodded
"Can i ask why" he asked putting his fork down and taking a sip of his coffee
"Well she just warned me to stay away" jian said as if it was the most normal thing ever, she shrugged and seth had to pause his coffee that was raised in the air that he was about to take a sip from, he ended up putting it down without taking the sip
"What" he asked, he was truly surprised, the two didn't have any business meeting up since when did they become friends. He wasn't complaining just really surprised
"She likes you" jian said looking up at him before picking up back her fork and continuing her food, she already lost her appetite but she needed to focus her mind on something else what if Seth with this revelation finally realizes he likes Fiona back. Seth was really confused and surprised to think Fiona still liked him he thought they were over that. Even when they were dating they still acted like they did when they were best friends nothing changed it was jus a smooth and satisfying sail from friendship to relationship so even when they broke up, they still just continued that flow a few things did change because they were no more lovers just friends again but it wasn't like a big significant change so he didn't suspect anything
"Are you okay" he asked if anybody knew fiona it was him and he knew she doesn't play, she really can come off as intimidating and scary but she really wasn't she just had insane confident that made one really not question her on anything and even crazier audacity and influence. If Fiona one day started a cult he won't be surprised she was that good with control but she was really nice and kind too. Just a lot of trauma that made her a little too angry at the world
"Yeah I'm good" jian replied finally putting down her fork, her stomach couldn't take it anymore the anxiety and nervousness filled her stomach already
"I'll talk to her, I'm Sorry about anything she said" seth apologized holding her hand across the table, it was like a reassurance for her and she finally calmed down. The two didn't talk about it anymore and enjoyed their breakfast after breakfast seth drove jian home
"Are you free later tonight" seth asked
"Why, want to ask me out" jian teased
"No, I'll probably get rejected" seth joked making jian laugh
"Tonight" seth asked and she nodded before getting off the car, they waved goodbye before jian walked into her house and seth drove off to Fiona's.
Fiona was mad, mad as a ragging bull
"Ma'am" the maid at the door greated but she was shoved so hard she almost fell, Fiona was really almost passing out, she was taking deep breaths to calm herself down. The maid alerted the others to tell them to immediately make way and stay out of Fiona's sight if they didn't want to be fired. She was really a chill and nice girl but when she's like this is better to get her parents and stay out of her sight
"Fiona i call-" mina said the moment she saw Fiona within eye sight but the girl literally pushed her out of her way making her fall on ber butt, which hurt. Fiona was already on the steps when she halted and turned back
"You little fake bitch, don't think i don't know what you've been on to, stay away from my seth I won't want to repeat myself, stop acting all big and being a helpless white lotus, I can take it anymore" she warned before walking off, some of the maids who were quietly standing there saw everything which made mina even more embarrassed, she knew Fiona's anger was speaking but it didn't make it any better, she just humiliated her Infront all these maids
"What are you looking at" she yelled at them and they immediately left the scene, one angry rich brat was enough. After making her white more than an hour waiting for seth that wasn't coming, she had enough, she immediately picked up her bag and stormed off, she was going to show Fiona how weak she truly is. When she got into her car and drove off the Aguirre household she immediately dialed an old friend who was really good with computers
"Look who it is" the reciever said
"I need your help" mina said getting straight to the point
"When don't you" the receiver joked
"Anyways i need you hack into this phone, I'm sending you the details i have between 5 to 6 just give me in the log in and leave the rest to me" she explained
"Okay" the reciever agreed with a chuckle, mina thanked him before ending the call. Fiona will finally get the taste of the medicine she liked serving so much, making her, Mina hawk feel inferior and humiliating her.
