Move from School to Cafe

The teacher scanned the classroom. "Before I take the roll call today, I have an announcement." She pulled out a piece of paper and adjusted her glasses. "There will be some changes in the seating arrangement this term. Some students will be moving to different spots."

At these words, there was a slight stir in the classroom. Hana, unconsciously, looked behind her—and once again, her eyes met Aerin's.

The teacher continued: "The list of changes will be posted on the board, find your new seat and sit accordingly."

Immediately, everyone got up and moved toward the board to find out who was moving where. Hana thought to herself, I hope it's not a bad change...

Hana leaned slightly to look at the list posted on the board. She quickly scanned for her name—she was staying in the same row as Eunbi. She sighed with relief. But just then, Eunwoo's voice was heard.

"Seriously?"

Hana looked up at him. Eunwoo was frowning, staring blankly at the list on the board. Sera was standing right next to him, her face showing dissatisfaction.

"What happened?" Hana asked, walking over.

"I got separated from Sera," Eunwoo sighed. "I moved to the front, and she's moved to the back."

Sera crossed her arms. "Great. Now I have to actually listen in class."

Hana smiled faintly, but Eunwoo still looked sulky.

Aerin glanced at her new seat on the list, nodded slightly, and moved towards her desk. She was already seated in the back, so it didn't seem to bother her much.

Eunbi touched Hana's arm. "Come on, let's get to our seats. The change isn't that bad."

Hana gave one last glance at the still gloomy Eunwoo and nodded. But there was a strange feeling inside her. Sera and Eunwoo were always side by side... Now, they had been placed at completely different corners of the classroom.

Wonder what kind of changes this might bring?

When the bell rang for class, there was a slight movement in the classroom. Some people rushed to their seats at the last minute, while others continued talking. As Hana opened her bag and pulled out her notebook, Eunbi glanced at her out of the corner of her eye.

"You're really spaced out today," she said, slowly spinning the pen in her hand. "Did something happen in the garden this morning?"

Hana jumped slightly but quickly composed herself. "No, nothing happened."

Eunbi raised an eyebrow and smiled lightly. "Nothing at all? Are you sure?"

After checking the roll call list, the teacher began writing a few notes on the board. "Today we will continue with a new topic. Does anyone remember what we covered last class?"

As Hana quickly skimmed her notes, Sera opened her phone and checked something. She then giggled and lightly tapped Eunwoo's arm. "Hey, did you see this comment?"

Eunwoo tilted his head to look at the screen, but he quickly straightened up when he heard the teacher's sharp voice. "Put the phones away, Sera."

Sera rolled her eyes but quietly put her phone away in her bag. "I always get caught at the worst times," she mumbled.

Hana tried to focus on the lesson, but she could still feel a slight smile coming from the back rows. Aerin had her arm resting on her desk, and she was slightly tilting her head, watching the class. Hana quickly turned her head to avoid eye contact, but her heart was beating just a little faster.

While the class continued, Eunbi gently touched Hana's arm and handed her a small note that she had written. Hana squinted and looked at the paper.

"Really, nothing happened?"

Hana lightly traced the edge of the note with her pen, then wrote a short response.

"Why would I lie to you?"

When she handed the note back to Eunbi, the girl smiled slightly but didn't say anything more.

The rest of the class passed quietly, but Hana's mind was focused on just one thing—the brief but meaningful look Aerin had given her.

As the classes passed one after another, the atmosphere in the classroom became more monotonous. Short conversations during breaks, Sera's endless social media dramas, and Eunbi's occasional meaningful glances toward Hana... The day was almost going as usual.

When the bell rang for the last class to end, Hana quickly packed her bag. Most of the students were hurrying to leave, but Eunbi turned to her and smiled faintly. "Are we leaving together today?"

Hana nodded. "Sure."

As they walked down the corridor, they heard a voice coming from behind. "Hana!"

When Hana turned around, she saw Eunwoo walking toward them, smiling faintly. "What's up?"

Eunwoo shrugged. "We're going somewhere with the others today. Want to join?"

Eunbi raised an eyebrow and looked at Hana. "We had plans, but..."

Hana hesitated. The events from that day were still lingering in her mind, but maybe going out would be a good idea. "Where are you going?"

Eunwoo pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked something. "We're going to the café. We won't stay long."

After a brief pause, Hana nodded. "Okay, I'll come."

Eunbi sighed lightly and joined them. "You won't leave me behind, right?"

Eunwoo smiled and shook his head. "Of course not."

As the three of them walked toward the school exit, Hana unintentionally looked back. Aerin and Hyejin were still talking in the schoolyard. Despite the distance between them, Hana felt as if Aerin had glanced at her for a moment.

But Hana decided not to dwell on it.

That was enough for today.
