Dungeon's End, World's Beginning

Yami stood before the last door of the dungeon. It was different from the others because it was gigantic and had inscribed symbols etched into it which gave off an otherworldly glow.

He breathed out, relaxing his shoulders. "Okay. Let's get out of here."

The door slowly creaked open, shoving strongly at his shoulder, with a low rumble to reveal a stairway up.

For the first time since waking in this place, Yami saw something other than shadows.

A tiny light glowed from upstairs.

His steps echoed as he ascended, the air altering—lighter, fresher. He had not realized how heavy and suffocating the dungeon was until then.

Then, with one final step—

He emerged into the world.

Blinding light struck his face, and he squinted. The scent of grass, trees, and fresh air flooded over him.

He stood in the entrance to a vast cavern, gazing down upon a thick green forest stretching out to the horizon.

A blue sky stretched above him, marked by white clouds.

Yami whistled slowly. "Okay… now this is an actual isekai."

Before he could stare at the landscape some more—

Yami scrunched his brow. "Huh? What's with the question marks?"

All of a sudden—

SHOOM!

A dark portal appeared in front of him.

".Oh, that can't be good."

Before he could react, the portal dragged him in—

And the world changed once more.
