On the rooftop of the highest building in Pangea city, a lonely shadowy figure was watching chaos with a smile on its face. As the true ruler of Mary Geoise, Imu reveled in the chaos that was going on. After being on the top of the world, there are rarely any occasions that could surprise it anymore. It unabashedly watched the city slowly burning.
They watched it with a smile on his face. Being at the top of the world, especially for the past century or so, it had lost any interest in everything. Today... was quite fun. Imu was like a bystander who had nothing to do with anything, watching the development with avid curiosity. It didn't care if the slaves escaped or how many would escape or if any escaped at all. Nor did it care about the losses the World Government would have to face in such a situation.
While Imu was enjoying the 'bonfire', Chu Yang and Fisher had already escaped from Mary Geoise and had arrived at the edge of the Red Line. Chu Yang never expected that Fisher would follow him all the way. The only reason he helped him was because the way to the exit was blocked by the Marines. Otherwise, he would have escaped without any hesitation.
He had no choice but to take action at that time. In the attack, he just used most of his chakra, and if it weren't for the great recovery ability of the wood release, he would have fainted then and there. Along the way, Fiser would keep taking glances at Chu Yang. The abilities he showed confirmed with him that he was a devil fruit user and a very powerful one at that. As for what kind of ability, he wasn't curious enough to ask him right now.
They were not close enough that they would share each other's capabilities. As the both of them walked towards the edge of the cliff, Chu Yang looked at the steep fall and subconsciously swallowed. Although he was afraid of heights, with such a steep drop anyone would feel even a little bit of hesitation just looking at it. "If I remember correctly, there was a lift boat here." Chu Yang looked around for it. He knew there were special boats that would pick up people up and down the Red Line.
"There are a large number of soldiers guarding the boats, but now most of them are out there putting out the fires. As long as we can find the Lift boat, we can Mary Geoise safely" replied Fisher. Chu Yang looked at him with surprise, this guy knew way too much info about this.
Fisher saw that he didn't believe in him, so he explained "I saw the Lift boat when I was climbing from underneath." Chu Yang nodded and did a double take "Wait a minute, where did you climb from again?" Fisher pointed downward and at the cliffside to him. Now he realized who this man was. In the history of One Piece, there was only one man who dared climb the Holy Land with his bare hands. That was Fisher Tiger, the man who freed the slaves from the Nobles.
After knowing his identity, he couldn't help but look at him up and down, then realize his distinct red skin color from the plot. Feeling his intense gaze, Fisher felt his skin crawl "Kid don't worry, I'm not lying to you" "I know, you came here to set it on fire as well" Fisher felt something wrong and asked "Huh? What do you mean also?" Chu Yang's expression changed as he tried to divert the topic.
"It doesn't matter; we don't have the time to chat any longer. The more time we stay here, the better the chance for them to capture us. Take us to the Lift boat, quickly" Fisher calmed down and led him forward along the cliff-side. After a while, both of them found access to the point Lift boats. Just like Chu Yang, some soldiers were guarding the boats. But with their combined might, they easily took take of them.
Fisher couldn't help but sigh "Good, the defenses here are pretty light, and it should be the same for the other places as well. Let's hope the others can escape this place just as easily." Chu Yang who kept to himself, couldn't help but feel a sense of respect even if he wouldn't do the same. There was ridicule from him since people like him are pretty rare in this world.
Taking advantage of the night, they both took the boat left the Red Line, and returned to the embrace of the seas. There was a small town at the base of Mary Geoise that served as a landing point for the boat lift. Because there was no patrol, they sneaked into the port without any hitches. While walking in the quiet streets, Fisher couldn't help but ask "Kid, are you ready to go home?"
Home? There was no home for him here. Chu Yang smiled bitterly "There is no home for me anymore." Hearing his response, Fisher assumed his home was ransacked by the traffickers as he sympathized with him. "So where are you going to go next?" Chu Yang thought for a while. Where would he go anyway? For now, the priority is learning how to protect himself and learn some useful skills.
Whether it was Haki or any other kind of fighting skill, he needed to learn something as soon as possible for his safety. Otherwise, it would be a waste if he learned nothing the next time he meets his other selves. In his opinion the most important skill in One Piece to learn was Haki. There is no doubt about the usefulness of Haki in the Grand Line and New World as well. And it doesn't have many shortcomings, unlike devil fruits which make you unable to swim. But the question is where would he and who would he learn Haki from?
