Their time at the bunker was now over. Out of the twelve people that were summoned, two set off on their own. At least that's what Isaac thought. In reality, not a single one was willing to join him.
Orion, upon learning of his inexperience in combat, decided that Isaac was unfit to lead. And so, in a move that Isaac could barely prepare for the rest of the group decided to join Orion's side. Abandoning the young man, leaving him to fend for himself.
"I'm sorry buddy, I hope you can survive out there." Vincent, the speedster waved him goodbye as the rest of them moved on.
Most of the others didn't even acknowledge him, Antonyo gave him a nod as he joined the others and with that he was all on his own.
Isaac, much like Aarthamion and Gristlethum, was now on his own. The portal that sent them there was gone and like a machine his brain began to short circuit as he watched them leave. "I see… I'm alone."
'It's a good thing that I didn't show all of my cards to them then.' People, especially those who see themselves as special are not as simple as he thought they would be. One sign of weakness and even with his plan, they were not willing to hear him out.
'I should've known… I let my guard down… For fuck's sake Isaac. They left us here to die.' He banged his head to a tree. With enough force to cause some bleeding. 'What triggered this… I-...wait a minute.'
"They were following Orion… I should've known. He wanted my guard down, he wanted authority over the group. I was perfectly fine with not being the leader…why would he…?" He bit his lip in frustration. "No, this makes sense. Now that I think about it, I probably came off as arrogant and when he learned that I was new to fighting… all he needed to do was to show them this flaw."
One last punch to a tree, enough to both shake it and cause his hand to bleed. "I might be alone but there's no one with more potential than me when it comes to this situation. I need information."
"Unit List."
Basic Swordsman 3x
Basic Archer 2x
Basic Spearman 2x
Current Number of Units: 7
Stored Units: 7
"Take them all out of storage please." Seven figures were now kneeling in front of him. Each equipped with weapons from the medieval ages. "First thing's first, we're all on our own. Things have gone to shit. We're not on hostile terms with the others... but let's just say that we're not too friendly either."
"With that being said, we're likely moving south. Opposite of where they ran off to. I want at least two swordsmen to stay with me as the rest of you scour the area. Come back within 2 hours or as soon as you see an open space." Isaac, the blue-eyed young man is currently in survival mode.
'I didn't expect Maja and the old man to join those assholes too… The Supes make sense. They were already looking down on me, the extra push was just the nail in the coffin. Lady Vanitha was probably convinced by Maja, while the rest of the Terrans were already part of Orion's team in the first place.' As he nursed his injured hand, his swordsman, one of the first ones spawned by the barracks, looked concerned.
Grabbing his hand tightly, the swordsman began to wrap his master's wound. "While it is not my right to question, I am still here to listen, my liege. Should you have any frustrations."
"I'm a greenhorn, one that was trying to preach to the choir. Maybe it's the way I talk or even just the vibes that I gave off. At the end of the day, not a single one of them stayed." A hint of anger that would soon turn into hopelessness. "They could have at least told me beforehand… I could've prepared."
2 hours passed by quickly and one of the spearmen found an open area. "My lord, the pine trees might have hidden them, But I found an open area and it's near a river."
"It looks like the guide didn't send us to a random place after all."
The guide had a few conditions for where it would send a portal. While it mentioned that it would be at a random spot above ground, a few things were certain. One of those things is that they would be ported to a mostly unpopulated area. Devoid of the more powerful threats that the world has to offer. This would also mean that it would be difficult for them to find those that came before them.
'Not a single one of my basic units can compare to those guys… hell the old man can just use gold to summon way better things than I can.' Isaac was stuck in his thoughts while they moved through the forest. 'It's just like when I first entered the workforce. To them I was just another inexperienced kid who doesn't know what he's doing.'
The clearing that his units found was rather large, enough for him to fit not just one building but multiple. "Inventory." This was a feature that his system shared with those from the realm of Terra.
Wood: 600
Stone: 500
He filled his inventory with as much stone and wood as he could before leaving the facility. The rest of the boxes were filled with bolts for his crossbow. "With this much, I can start us off with a barrack, a lumber mill, a stone quarry and a barn."
Basic Barracks - 150 Wood, 100 Stone
Farmer's Barn - 50 Wood
Lumber Mill - 70 Wood, 30 Stone
Stone Quarry - 30 Wood, 70 Stone
[Basic Barracks] Tier 1 Building
These barracks are a comfortable home for your units and guests. Based on the size of the current base, the production rate for units can increase. The basic barrack can house up to 12 units. A new unit will be produced once every week based on the current comfort levels of the base. Upgrades will be unlocked upon building one of each Tier 1 building type or once an Altar of Heroes has been constructed.
"The unit production rate is much lower than the one from the underground base, it makes a lot of sense considering there were no hostile entities in that area."
[Farmer's Barn] Tier 1 Building
A storage unit for livestock and the remains of your captured animals. This building can be upgraded to the Butcher's Hut or the Hunter's Hut.
[Lumber Mill] Tier 1 Building
A storage building used to store and process wood. Capable of producing 10 Wood without being manned, up to a maximum of 3 units can be housed and will increase the production rate.
[Stone Quarry] Tier 1 Building
A storage building that doubles as a source of stone. Left alone without being manned, 10 Stone will be produced in a day. It is highly advised to add units to hasten production.
Each unit of stone is equivalent to about 20 Kilograms, while each unit of Wood is equal to at least four logs of it. The buildings also passively stored the resource,
"With all of those created, I should have about 300 wood and 300 stone left to play around with our defenses." Isaac began to pull out his notebook. "I knew making a few floorplans would come in handy."
On one side of the river the barrack was now present, while the resource based buildings were on the opposite side. "I can put a watch tower on top of the waterfall. With that much height we can scout out most threats."
Basic Watchtower - 50 Wood, 100 Stone
Basic Turret - 50 Wood, 75 Stone
Two Basic Turrets, one on each side of the river while the watchtower was placed atop the waterfall. With 200 wood and 125 stone left over, he had a little more than enough for a training facility. "The units spawned from the barracks are considered civilians until I send them into the training facility, there's a low chance of them already having a profession after they spawn."
Training Facility - 200 Wood, 75 Stone
With a bit of extra stone left, he created the training facility, or at least the Tier 1 version right next to the barracks. "According to the units that trained there it felt like two whole months of training despite only spending a day in there, Surely when it's upgraded I'll have access to stronger units."
A second barrack would be his next priority once he gains enough resources. "For now, I want everyone to clear the area. Food in my inventory can last us at least a few weeks, but we can also get by on hunting and if we find any fish in this river."
Isaac's focus was on creating his base and building numbers, the upgrades can come later.
