Orion's Party II

The large party couldn't care less about the threats that the forest had to offer. Travis swatted the monsters away like flies and any that got close enough to the main group would either die to one of Antonyo's guards or get their head blown off by one of Orion's blasters.

The Treants meant nothing to them as they journeyed through the forest. The party is now moving at a much faster rate, due to the information that Vincent provided for them the night prior.

"Do you think we're not making enough noise?" Travis asked the group as he threw another Treant across the ocean.

"I think you should make a few sonic booms while flying high, that should get the attention of some of our old friends!" Vincent called out.

"What?! No!" Veins in Orion's head began to show. Those from Bechnitz had little to no care for his opinions anymore and it's only the second day.

His response was far too late, the sounds would garner the attention of all nearby monsters. "Get ready for a slaughter folks!" Vincent smiled before running across the battlefield once more.

The forest that they were sent to had a total of four main groups that walked its surface. The Murloks of the river, the Treants created by the corrupted mana, The tribe of trolls that lined the mountain-side and finally the Spined-devils oozing out from a lava pool that's connected to the abyss.

The sonic booms would attract the attention of not only the Treants, but the nearby trolls and the Spined-devils as well. The party of supposed heroes were in for a fight, one that Maja was more than happy to partake in.

"AHH YES! EXPERIENCE POINTS!!!" A manic grin and sounds of glee would follow.

Among the crowd, the frustrated Orion could only sigh as their location was now compromised. "I wanted contact with our equals, but not like this… not in this barbaric manner."

"Let the children enjoy themselves, while the threats are plentiful. I believe that letting them wreak havoc while our foes are still weak is the least we can do." The elf finally spoke up.

Orion could only nod. The threats were far weaker than what he was used to, different monstrous abominations and aliens are part of a regular Monday morning for him. Giant walking trees and demons with toxic spikes meant nothing to him. "Their poison is potent, do you have a way of repurposing it for our own use and finding an antidote?"

"Already on it, so long as the others can keep me safe… I should have one in less than an hour." Doctor Juno Haynes, equipped with a system that lets her upgrade her database and general tools was quite the useful companion.

"Great, if we're slaughtering them anyways then it's better to get some materials as well." Aris looked through his screens. "The Treants also seem to have cores made out of Magic Crystals, we can use those as batteries, power source for our tech!"

"That's great news, Aris!" Clementine stayed back with the rest of them, while not as powerful as Travis and not as fast as Vincent, she was useful in terms of support. Doctor Juno can help in the long run and can analyze their opponents at a much deeper level, but the access to someone that can heal a wound in seconds was a boon that not everyone had the pleasure of having.

Chaotic was a word that would be synonymous with the group as Orion's hand touched his forehead once more.

Two days, the speedster's calculations on their travel time were correct. On the night of their third day since leaving the bunker, Orion's party reached the beach. What should have been a time of celebration, would turn sour due to a clash of egos in the group.

"Things would've been much smoother if you didn't provoke them." Orion shook his head, disappointed in the fact that they still disregarded his orders. "Tsk tsk tsk."

"It's the same complaint, every damn time with you." Travis was noticeably annoyed. "What have you provided to this group aside from snide remarks and those shitty lazers?"

"Oi, calm down mate." Vincent got between the two, sensing the hostility. "I get it, but we agreed to his plans, didn't we?"

"The way I see it, We left Isaac on his own for someone with a vague plan." Travis, despite coming from the side of heroes, is quite well known for his temper behind the public's eye.

As Orion was about to speak up for himself, he found himself unable to due to the super-powered individual's hand raising him up from the ground.

"Ahh shit… I told him to calm down."

"You're just another human with barely any enhancements." It was a whole new personality that took over, Travis had a sickening smile. "Fragile… I can crush your throat without needing to try."

Aris and Juno assumed fighting stances, drones began to fly and Juno took out a rifle.

"For fuck's sake…" Speed was one hell of a weapon, Vincent took the tablet from Aris and the rifle away from Juno in a matter of seconds. "Nope, not today."

"As for the others, don't even think of interfering. Let them talk it out." Vincent's normally playful tone was gone.

"How can we expect them to talk it out, he's choking him!" Doctor Juno's right eye glowed red.

Orion would then drop to the ground, struggling to regain his breath.

"You're smarter than me, I get that." Travis looked down. "But that sense of superiority you have, that ego of yours… You don't deserve it."

"I'm the strongest one in this group and this will be the last time where you will speak to me like this!" Travis grabbed him once more, this time bringing him into the sky. "Do you understand?"

The show of power was one thing but it was clear that Travis did so to command respect. Orion could only nod in agreement. Most of the others were in shock, aside from a select few who saw it coming. Namely the members coming from Bechnitz along with the observant elf and old man Antonyo.

Orion came out of it with bruises on his neck, bruises that would be healed in a matter of seconds by Clementine. A few things would stay damaged that evening, Orion's ego and image are only some of them.
