Orion II

Shit hit the fan as soon as Orion started talking. The tribe's language was translated due to his adjustments to his mechanical suit. It was a simple matter of translating their language that consists of tongue flicking.

It wasn't a problem regarding language, it was more of a tonal difference and what Orion said in the first place.

"We can do this the easy way or the hard way, Lay down your weapons and join the cause while I'm still asking." Orion knew that he had both the firepower and the backing to make such a threat. The tribe who refer to themselves as the Enaskorin are humanoid from the torso but have the lower half of a snake, their inclination from speed and body enhancement magic come from their origins as servants of the Snake God.

Orion's statement was taken as a threat and the Enaskorin charged. Orion had access to 10 combat drones, each equipped with a rifle and a set of stun batons. The rifles also had tranquilizing darts, After all the goal of the mission was to bring them in as allies.

"No matter, if they don't wish to comply then so be it." Orion, while far weaker than Travis or any of the heavy hitters among his generation, is a capable fighter in his own right. His extra mechanical arms on his back were capable of shooting lasers and his enhanced arms wields a pair of pistols.

The Drones, without their regular equipment couldn't stun the Enaskorin in time. The darts had a hard time penetrating the scaled skin of the Enaskorin and they were swiftly overpowered.

The sound of clanking metal and the hissing of snakes filled the forest. Orion was far too focused on his own fight as he shot down dozens of them, not noticing that his troops were outnumbered and rapidly going down.

Aside from underestimating the effects of Body enhancement magic, Orion was also overconfident in his own abilities. "No matter, if they want to die then I'll kill them all myself."

Orion's system upgraded his arms to the point where he no longer needs to aim the lasers that were attached to them. These lasers are powerful enough to cut through the Enaskorins, leaving them either decapitated or cut in half. The main drawback of these lasers and Orion's other enhancements is the energy source.

This problem would normally be taken care of by spare batteries that he had in his inventory but this time around, just as he was about to refuel the Enaskorin finally managed to get through his defenses.

Orion has two layers of protection, a barrier and his armor. The barrier is a recent addition that he unlocked through the Alliance's resources. This barrier, while powerful enough to stop most incoming projectiles, had two weaknesses. One being that it ate up a lot of energy and the other being that it can only take a limited amount of damage before going down.

Orion didn't heed the warnings that were given to him about needing a second power core. What came next was a humbling far worse than what Travis did to him.

Flying above the trees with the last of his battery he pulled out the new power source from his inventory, thinking that he was far enough away from his foes to be hit Orion thought that he was safe. This was until a spear hit him square in the back right where his thrusters were.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Through his inevitable fall to the ground he managed to refuel and retaliate. But for the Enaskorin who finally caught wind of victory, they smelled blood.

Overwhelming speed and power. Orion accounted for them to be far stronger than a regular human, along with speed that's far too much for an average person. But their large physiques and body structure along with their natural affinity for body enhancement magic made them monsters that the currently unprepared Orion was not a match for.

A barrage of fists, slashes and attempts at prying his armor followed. Their bites were venomous yet piercing through his armor was almost impossible.

[All energy will be diverted into life-saving mode.]

[A distress signal has been sent out to the Alliance.]

The mission was a failure and Orion was now stuck inside his armor.

To the Enaskorins that were well aware of the existence of more powerful groups, the attempt at using their own language to threaten them was enough of a reason for them to fight. The bright red beams of light that crushed their brethren only fueled their rage even more.

In the eyes of the tribe of warriors, who have only known combat and their loyalty to the god that created them only the blood of this heathen could satiate their thirst.

"A solo mission for someone who just arrived? I don't know if it's our mistake or his overconfidence…" The captain of the rescue mission could only sigh as they watched the live feed. "No matter, if his shell can hold then he'll be fine."

"A diplomatic mission and he starts off by threatening them… this was the dumbass that tried to lead Travis and their generation?" A summoned individual from Bechnitz placed his head on his palm as exclaimed. "New bloods are always too arrogant about their tech or magic to even recognize the benefits of the other… rookie mistake."

"Yeah, yeah. You need to see that the guy was an official back in Terra. The guy's used to ordering people around, it's just that he's not used to inter-species talks." This individual wears a full combat suit originating from Terra. "They overestimated his capabilities."

"He lacks awareness, the 30 days at the bunker didn't teach him not to mess with magic users? It was supposed to be an easy diplomatic mission because we managed to learn their language… No talks will be had, the mission this time is to rescue him." The captain didn't want to waste precious life that could be fighting for them. "Peace talks are over, slaughter them."

A group of 4 from previous generations. Those that have been in this reality for longer than a year. Far more experienced in dealing with the locals than Orion and the members of the 301st generation.
