The Train Escape (That Goes Horribly Wrong)

The group reached the train station just as the massive, steam-powered locomotive began pulling away.

Zephyria vaulted onto a crate and leapt onto the back of the train, landing smoothly. "Come on!"

Vespera followed, cartwheeling midair just for flair.

Tess hopped on effortlessly.

Finn, however, was not built for this kind of nonsense.

"OH NO NO NO—" He flung himself at the train, barely catching the railing—then immediately slipped.

Zephyria lunged forward, grabbed his coat, and hauled him up. "You are THE MOST USELESS HERO I HAVE EVER SEEN!"

Finn gasped. "I never claimed to be a hero—"

A shadow loomed over them.

Zephyria's eyes widened. "Oh, for the love of gears—"

Ignis had LAUNCHED HERSELF OFF A BUILDING, SOARING THROUGH THE AIR LIKE A BEAUTIFUL, MURDEROUS COMET.

"FINN, MY LOVE!"

She crashed onto the train roof, cracking the metal beneath her.

Finn grabbed Zephyria's arm. "PLEASE TELL ME SHE'S FINALLY KNOCKED OUT."

Ignis stood up. Completely fine.

She winked. "You can't get rid of me that easily, darling~."

Finn buried his face in his hands. "I want to cry."
